Airlift has done well on its opening day at the box office, collecting Rs 12.35 crore on Day 1. The collections are on-par (probably a little above) of what was expected out of the film prior to release.
The word-of-mouth is excellent. Exhibitors inform that the audience has responded positively to the film and the occupancy grew quite significantly towards the end of the day yesterday.
On Saturday morning, Airlift has recorded higher occupancy as compared to Friday, especially at multiplexes in cities. Centres in Mumbai city were about 10% above yesterday. Other centres in the NCR region and Bangalore have also held on strongly today.
The fate of Airlift is dependent on how well it trends over the course of the weekend. Last year, Baby picked up by around 20% on Saturday. Airlift would have to show similar growth if it has to record a 42-43 crore weekend.

A good movie but for me Baby was much better made film.
Collections are very good considering the presence of 60cr sry 80cr club’s Megastar akshay Kumar.

if movie earns 25cr with 5000 screens and movie earns 12.50cr with 2500 its same amount end of the its making…

Airlift is not conventional Bollywood script – requires guts… The movie if world not have crossed 100 it would have been a shame but now the way it is trending it is a winner at box office too… Won hearts and money !! Good job Akki

I as an SRKian liked AIRLIFT BAJRANGI BAHUBALI BABY DRISHYAM 3 IDIOTS etc. But will never promote a movie like HATE STORY KYA KOOL HAIN HUM etc if they clash with my fav actor’s movie.
I hope Fans out here understand that disrespecting others is just bullshit.
And yes Airlift is a Masterpiece. Brilliantly made movie with a lot of heart. Not for Porkistanis. Only for Hindustanis.

One of if not the finest performance of Akshay After Elaan a movie many Akki fans am sure underrate. This movie will win lots of accolades and international awards especially those from middle east. From beginning to end Akshay was damn to good. At first I was contemplating commenting because of the stupidy and irrelevant trolling @Sunny Akkiholic give but I have the guts to come out and say well done Akshay kumar. This movie is poetry in motion. I could not find any lapses. I pray it’s a hit and passes 100 crs comfortablely. from Ajay Devgn Sir fan. I

Does he not give blockbusters – in spite of doing so less films he has done so well. And Hrithik is popular with girls due to his looks, kids due to krissh, his acting in movies like kmg, agneepath made him popular among movie buffs, and has done massy movies like Dhoom 2, bang bang. Regarding Akki, I like him and can’t bash him ever. He has been so versatile – airlift. Will any superstar except Akki support such a script ? I don’t think so he does movies not keeping collections in mind. On a given day if he does massy movie like rr, he can open 20 plus easily. The reason of slight edge over Ajay is his current selection like sib,brothers …Ajay on the other hand had a big opening with Singham returns though trend was poor. 2 years back Akki was way ahead and yes the only guy comparable to SRK, sk and Hrithik … Aamir I still feel is very smart and gets way although not a big star.. With airlift Akki proved he is better than Ajay … It’s just that he needed a good film…
Saturday shows in Bangalore are almost full… Looks like easily 14.5-15 today… Hope it goes above 15 – word of mouth is very strong !!! It will cross Jai Ho and agneepath though this is not even aimed at masses and has had a competition which is affecting in SS… Too good if it manages to cross agneepath although Jai Ho is sure to be crossed
