With exactly a week to go for the release of Agneepath, it’s time for some box-office predictions. For few who are still unaware, Agneepath directed by Karan Malhotra is the remake of Amitabh Bachchan’s 1990 classic. The film, produced by Karan Johar under the Dharma Productions banner, stars Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Sanjay Dutt and Rishi Kapoor.
We have always strongly believed that a Hrithik Roshan film with mass-appeal, is guaranteed to open to a huge response at the box-office. Almost all of his commercial entertainers like Dhoom 2 and Krrish opened to record-breaking numbers. Even Kites, which is one of his biggest flops, had a good initial weekend.
Coming back to Agneepath, the film’s USP is Hrithik Roshan and the item number by Katrina Kaif. The buzz is strong and the music is a hit. Also the fact that the last biggie (Don 2) released more than a month back, should help Agneepath. The only concern? Some of the trailers were dark and intense, with a bit of blood, gore and violence too. Will the family audiences stay away?

HIT or FLOP Prediction: The opening will be good, if not great. The initial weekend itself should recover most of the film’s investment. How big a HIT the film can go on to be, would then depend on word-of-mouth and how well it manages to sustain during the weekends. We think Agneepath has a good chance to attain HIT status.

Salman doesnt even have the balls to try something like Guzaarish.. different story that he is not capable enough to get one scene right.. will fall flat on his face
SRK’s films might suck but atleast he’s a capable actor.. Salman is nowhere.. not a good actor and his films are pathetic too.
indicine: i believe that this movie will not coross 100 crores marks. it’s not an easy for every movie to cross 100 crores like dabbang sultan (salman khan) you all know srk movies ra one and don 2 also crossed 100 crores not very easily even after a record start.
if the film agneepath will be outstanding, it may nearly cross or close to 100 crores otherwise it’s not possible.
only salman’s bad or averge movies can cross 100 crores easily like B.G and ready.

Lets talk Abut Overseas…it can maximum earn 30 cr not more as the action genre is a huge disadvantage and looking at hritik last multi-starter ZNMD has world wide gross of 152 cr…whereas other movies collection is far ahead

2. Don 2* – 205 crore (expected)
3. Ra.One*- 200 crore
4. Ready – 185 crore
now its just Hindi,if u include regional Ra.One-240 cr and Don 225 cr …its not worth comparing and ZNMD is Hritik’s Biggest hit so far….
so,world wide gross will be around 150-170 now it may be less as its action and znmd was family genre…India net 95 Cr …35 Cr Max…total is 130 cr net worldwide.
The movie will be one of the 3 box office hits of this year.the prediction os quite believeable.
lukin @ few ppl commenting about hrithiks box office capability iz quite funny…..one can tell v effortlesly dat they dont have any knowlrdge abt boxoffice and films..mst of d salman fans r comparing films dt are relesed after 2010 …jus go behind last 10yrs and check who has given blockbusters….wen dhoom2 made 150 cr gross in 2006 it was onl bcause of hrithik roshan…ppl glued to the screen wen he iz in action…but hrithik iz nt like salman to stick to d same genre and do some remakes all d time…hrithik has always tried all d roles..and d world knws how mch capable he iz as an actor..salman aur akshay jaise actors ka ek time hota hai…but aftr few yrs der movies will b a failure wen audience realize dey r repeating d same thng…

agneepath movie looks good. the main highlight of the movie is going to sanju baba in negaive role. one more thing i dont know why some people bashing salman on agneepath movie article. salman star power is untouchable. there are some people talking about hritik’s success rate is more than salman. well let me tell you what, the number of hits in hritik whole carrer which i believe hardly 7 or 8 movies, which salman managed to get in his first five years. salman has two all time blockbusters in first six years which are maine pyar kia(1989) and hum aap kay hain kuon(1994). hritik has been in bollywood for over 12yrs and hasnt got one yet which makes me curious about you dogs barking about hritik success. secondly salman highest grossing years are

@sachin..Bhai I never said Agneepath Cant be a big hit but i am just saying what most possibly happen…U need to agree Salman ki movie star power pe chalti hain..SRK ki Class audience pe…aur aamir ki Content of the story pe…isiliye BG,Ready aur Ra.one jaise Average movies Top worldwide grossers hain…all this movies failed to collect after 1 week..still they collected more then 110 Cr net aur 200 cr worldwide only becoz of their stardom and grip over Family audience otherwise its not really easy to cross 100 Cr..and abut agneepath it will take superb opening but Family audience and Overseas Audience never liked this kind of action movie except when it has a big name with it,,,Sanju baba is a superstar but we all know he lost his hold over Audience if u look at his last few releses and Hritik is also a superstar but out of his last 4 movies none of the movie except ZNMD has crossed 60 cr mark..his guzarrish has collected mere 30 cr less then movies like murder2.i understand it was not a masala movie but such huge flop cant be accepted frm Hritik standard..Thats why i predicted 95+ cr India and 30-40 Cr Max Overseas so worldwide it will be little below then ZNMD which had a universal appeal and worked really well outside India…so it will finish around 140-150 Cr worldwide..but 26th will decide whats goona happen and with better response it may touch 100 Cr net in India…Possible yet difficult.
@Joy- wat u r talkin’ abt starpower of Hrithik Roshan come on man look at Krrish Dhoom-2 which was 1st indian movie to collect over 150 crores worldwide with a bumper responce u can check boxofficeindia and also even Kites got a huge opening thats not all even ZNMD which don’t had a big opening then also it collected 90 crores in India and 152 worldwide and u r also comparing Guzaarish which was not boxoffice hit but its performance was stupendous it also got name in oscar diary. i am not sayin that salman is bad but can u say that he could have done a tough role in movie like Guzaarish???

@Rohit…Bro..Hritik is a superstar and there is no doubt at all..and its true he has few big movies in his kitty like dhoom2,krrish,kmg,Knph but the only problem here is his blockbusters never gross 150 cr worlwide except ZNMD…dhoom2 worldwide gross was 149 cr (http://www.boxofficeindia.com/showProd.php?itemCat=312&catName=TGlmZXRpbWU=)..now ZNMD is hritiks biggest hit till date…where as salman has 2,srk has 4 and Aamir has 2 150 Cr worldwide grossers till date …its true salman cant do a Guzzarish but its also true hritik cant convert the average ready,dabbang,Bg in top worldwide grossers as hritik needs a good story to pull the audience where as salman,srk dont need a story,their stardom is enough to make a movie hit…Ra.one got huge negative publicity ..any hritik movie would have crashed after that ..see kites as and example…but Ra.one india nett is 124 cr and world wide gross is huge 240 cr…now thats the difference …but i m sure Agneepath can manage to do Brilliant collection all over but the content needs to be very good to get repeat and need to survive after one week as ek main aur ek tu is a potential film and may damage its longer run. but still its a win win situation for hritik if someting tremendously goes wrong with the movie.

Starpower of srk and salman is untouchable. don2 without a single hit song and an action movie with less promotion crossed 100cr. only because of srk.don2 was not a festival release because christmas fell on sunday and in india hardly some people celebrate christmas in rural areas. bodyguard and ra.one were festival releases but festival only adds 10% in the opening figures so bg and raone were succesful only because of srk and salman. now hrithik, he is a great actor and he has the third highest fans after srk and salman worldwide. original agneepath of amitabh bachchan was a flop. people already know the story and most of the characters. music is not a big hit except chikni chameli.
