Fox Star Studios, one of the producers of ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, are meeting the Mumbai police commissioner seeking protection ahead of the theatrical release of the film on October 28.
The news comes a day after the Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sen intensified its battle against the release of the film in the state of Maharashtra.
“We will oppose the screening of the movie everywhere in the state. If any multiplex operator dares to screen the film, they (exhibitors) should remember that multiplexes are decorated with expensive glass sheets” MNS leader Amey Khopkar had said.
The Cinema Owners Exhibitors Association of India, after a meeting on October 14, had also requested its members to not screen any film starring Pakistani artistes, including ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’.
The film stars Pakistani star Fawad Khan.

If Government of India is ready to give permits & visas then it is Govt duty to protect the foreigners from local goons. Visa is just not a travel document but it is an assurance from Govt that we will ensure safety of the travellers. However in this case Govt looks helpless to protect their own people against hooligans. It is Govt duty to protect theaters, exhibitors and audience to protect if you are passing a movie from censor and allowing to release it. Else put a complete ban on movie citing safety risks.
As an Indian personally I have no interest to watch any Pakistani actor in an indian movie in present situation. Though I am not with MNS in banning & protesting against release the decision should be individual and not be forced one. Different people see different ways of showing love towards the country you simply cannot preach or enforce the love for country it has come within.
