Ever wondered which Hindi film was the first film to do 1 crore net business? Or for that matter the first film to collect 5 crore and 10 crore at the domestic box office?
Way back in the year 1943, Gyan Mukherjee’s Kismet was the first film to collect Rs 1 crore in its entire run at the box office. Starring Ashok Kumar, Mumtaz Shanti and Shah Nawaz, Kimset was produced by the first public limited film company Bombay Talkies.

More than 17 years later, K Asif’s iconic Mughal-e-azam was the first Hindi film to surpass the 5 crore mark. The historic costume drama featured Prithviraj Kapoor as Emperor Akbar, Dilip Kumar as Salim and Madhubala as Anarkali.
The industry had to wait for 15 more years, before Ramesh Sippy’s 1975 All-time-blockbuster Sholay became the first film to cross 10 crore mark. The Amitabh Bachchan – Dharmendra – Hema Malini – Jaya Bachchan starrer was also the first to 15 crore.
And then the ‘KHAN Domination’ began. Apart from Sunny Deol’s Gadar Ek Prem Katha which was first to 75 crores, every milestone was owned by either Salman Khan (25 and 50 crore), Aamir Khan (100, 125, 150, 175, 200, 250, 275, 300, 325 crore) or Shah Rukh Khan (225 crore).

The next milestone to look forward to, will be the film that will cross the 350 crore mark. It won’t be easy, because not only do films need a solo festive release, but other factors like 2-3 major holidays, 2-3 open weeks, along with incredible word-of-mouth.

Sultan has little chance but if not Sultan then dangal. but no chance for srk. he should improve his atitude and search social scripts unlike his past movies.

PK record is Safe till 4-5 years atleast.
Sultan can broke it if it has a positive or mixed wom bcoz it has all solo release ,3 open weeks ,starcast (even a star who is on top of his stardom ) and if it fails to collect 300 crores then shame on it
Sultan might touch the 350 cr mark.

just wanna ask if a movie is made suppose on 90crs by Excel or any production and then makers sold it in 120crs suppose to Eros…then whatever business movie will make all will go to the distributers and exhibitors.., and the makers of the movie won’t get a single penny as they already have sold it in 120Crs…
So distributers have to survive the fate of the movie…

with just 6 days of free run CE managed to cross 225…and no doubt Aamir is in this list coz of biggest brands on biggest festive release with 3-4 open weeks in this decade
