Salman Khan’s Kick has become the 5th film to cross the ‘100 crore distributors share’ mark, after Ek Tha Tiger, Chennai Express, Krrish 3 and Dhoom 3.
Back in 2012, Ek Tha Tiger was the first film to earn 100 crore for the distributors. While 3 Idiots collected more than 200 crore at the domestic box office, more than 60% of the film’s business came after the first week.
The share that the distributors get from multiplex business reduces with every passing week. For example, the distributors share from Week 1 multiplex business if 52.5%, it reduces to 44.5% in Week 2, 38% in Week 3 and 30% fourth week onwards. In short, the more a film collects in its first week, the higher its distributors share. This explains why 3 Idiots collected 202.6 crore at the box office, but its distributors share is lower than Ek Tha Tiger.
The highest distributors share for a film, currently, is Dhoom 3 with Rs 148.3 crore. The film collected Rs 189 crore in its first week at the domestic box office. That record is likely to stay intact for now as Kick will finish with a share of around 130 crore.

@ Nipun – I never wrote that Salman’s movies are sensible and HR’s movies are not. What I meant was “to make sense ” is not a criteria to judge a movie whether it is paisa vasool or not. Movies only work on entertainment factor and you have to take them as movies not reality. Any thing can be done on screen as long as people like it. People only want to laugh and enjoy the movie. That’s it……. I am not against Hrithik mind you. I like him as an actor but for me he hasn’t done much work in the industry yet. Only 6-7 box office hits don’t make him a legendary actor. He has a lot to do in the industry to get close to Salman as He has more than 30 Blockbusters behind him. As long as he is giving Blockbusters, people will keep their love with him ans they want to see him.

Its the only film I have seen so far which had its dialogue sheet typed in Devanagari script. In fact, Rakeshji had issued strict instructions for the actors to read from Hindi dialogue sheets and for me to write dialogues in Hindi only. It helped Hrithik a lot to improve his Hindi reading and writing skills. However, this is a one off case as most of our new generationof actors have issues while working in Hindi.
