Tashan, Yashraj Films first release of the year 2008 will hit the silver screen this friday. Post Tashan, the next biggie to come out of the biggest production house in Bollywood is Kunal Kholi’s next.

Nominations for the IIFA Awards 2008 has been announced. Interestingly, Aamir Khan’s critically acclaimed and commercially super-successful Taare Zameen Par hasnt received even a single nomination in any category. The Darsheel Safari - Aamir Khan starrer which was expected to sweep awards at the IIFA has been left out because the producer (Aamir Khan) refused to sign on the nomination papers.

So with Taare out of the race, Chak De India is most likely to sweep the awards this year at the IIFA.. Also, Shreya Ghoshal has received four out of five nominations for Best Playback singer (Female).

The IIFA award ceremony will be held in Bangkok this year.

Deepika Padukone played a double role in her bollywood debut movie ‘Om Shanti Om’ which was a big hit. She will once again be seen in a twin role in Nikhil Advani’s next action film titled ‘Chandni Chowk To China’. Bunty Walia’s next titled ‘Gangs of London’ is a multi-starrer featuring six heroes and two heroines written by Bhupinder Singh and directed by Ad filmmaker, Shamin Desai. Sanjay Dutt has been roped in as one of the lead cast for this movie. He’ll sport a long beard and play the role of the leader of a Punjabi gang that does not allow prostitution and drugs in their area.

Somdev Mukherjee, 65, former husband of yesteryear actress Tanuja and founder of Filmalaya Studios, passed away in Mumbai on 10th April due to cardiac arrest.

Somdev had been aliling for sometime in the recent past but seemed to have fully recovered.
