After predicting correctly for 6 major movies in a row, #IndicineFBO has got it wrong for the first time in 2015. While T-Series was expecting a 10 crore+ opening, we were confident that the film will fall short of the first day collections of Akshay Kumar’s Baby – which was carrying outstanding pre-release reports and was promoted as a film from the makers of A Wednesday and Special 26.
Even though it was Ranbir’s first film in more than a year and the music did well, Ranbir hasn’t promoted the film and we expected the audience to be well aware of the fact that Roy was infact just a Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez film.
However, Roy has exceeded expectations at the box office and has done incredibly well on Day 1. Credit should go to T-Series for promoting the film as cleverly as they did.

The reason Baby was not promoted as much as ROY by T-series was because they knew Baby would click with audience and they knew the fate of ROY as well so extensive promotions were needed to ensure good collections!!!

Clever marketing by Team Roy…. Cant say they misled anyone as most ppl knew Ranbir was second lead so guess most went to see the film just to get any old glimpse of him. Its been slammed as a boring film with no real plot n goes nowhere fast but ranbirs name has drawn in alot of audiences so hes a crowd puller n superstar. No more doubts about that- well done RK n some buddha mukherjee can go back to his village coz RK is not part of his youngistan flop team…!
