Shahid Kapoor’s R.. Rajkumar has opened well at the domestic box office, with business of around 20 crore in 2 days. Prabhu Deva’s 4th mass-entertainer has fared very well at single screens in mass-dominated areas, but multiplex business has been below-the-mark at most centres.
The first weekend business is likely to be very similar to Farhan Akhtar’s Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, which collected 9.75 cr on Friday, 10.5 cr on Saturday and 12 cr on Sunday. But Milkha Singh’s biopic had arguably the best word-of-mouth for any film this year.
If R.. Rajkumar manages to collect around 5-6 crore on Monday and holds up well over the remaining weekdays, it is likely to collect around 50 crore in Week 1, giving it an outside chance to get close to the 100 crore mark.

Hats off to audience, who have trashed the critics.
I guess Shahid just bombarded audience with masala flicks, and finally people are sitting up and taking notice of this guy.
I don’t know whether it will collect 100 cr, but it sure looks on course, as I can see a lot of good vibes out there for the movie, and the wom is positive.
On a personal note, my personal opinion is that, Shahid should continnue doing movies that have a bit of action too, and doesnt always stay in the choclatey type roles.
He has got a pedastal, and people have slowly started liking him.
My observance is from the fact that not only Rajkumar, but even though Phata Poster was not a hit, people still liked his character.
Hence, he should not go back to the silly mushy romance type movies and undo all the efforts of building a macho personality.

People are really optimistic for a film with Shahid and the Camel Lady… I wish good Shahid, but yet to watch the film fearing the worst.
