R Rajkumar Saturday Box Office Collections

R Rajkumar has collected around Rs 9.75 crore on its second day at the box office. Single-screens dropped by around 15% after a good start on Friday. The film fared better at multiplexes on Saturday, but not enough to put up better numbers of Day 2.

The Shahid Kapoor starrer has now collected around 19.5-20 crore in 2 days, and the film should collect 30-31 crore in its first weekend at the box office.

Monday will decide if R Rajkumar goes on to be Shahid’s first hit since Jab Me Met (2007) and Sonakshi’s first success of the year. The film has two open weeks before the release of Dhoom 3 on December 20.

  • Friday – 10.1 crore
  • Saturday – 9.75 crore
  • Total – 19.85 crore

  • nside Story – Chennai Express Still Remains No.1 at Box OfficeNovember 30, 2013Team Unitezzfeatured,Hot News,Movie News,Movies,NewsNo commentsThe film trade has gone into shock over the claim of Krish 3 numbers at the boxoffice. If you look closely almost all trade pundits have stopped talking about the numbers altogether. The insiders tell us, “the journoshave tried to show this displeasure to the total fabricated numbers this super hero film is claiming and wanting them to second on public platforms. The trade pundits and gurus don’t want tobe a part of these lies anymore. So they have gone silent totally. One trade insider who spoke to us said, “They have inflated figures so much that they have become a laughing stock for thewhole industry.”Says another trade pundit, “ Thefilm has done well. But the need to break records and be the number one is the main culprit here. Krish 3 should just rejoice the business they have really done rather than cooking up stories about how they are the biggest. Because they are not. They have some records to their credit. But they are not Number 1 and that does not seem to go to well with them.” And then adding cattily he says, “The record that they have certainly without debate is that they are the only film that actually managed to shut down a boxoffice column in a popular newspaper. Unable to handle the lies they were being forced to throw to an unknowing junta.Even this particular paid ‘media’ decided to not “net” the figures!Recently the Roshans released an advt. in leading newspapers claiming that they have crossed 300 Crores worldwide. (Attached here with this article we have placed the advt.) All looks hunky dory and party worthy in the advertisement but a closer look at it and you know there is a major flaw to the whole celebration plan. What the experts are asking is why is that the producers have conveniently forgotten to mention if this is the Gross collections or Net collections. Details be damned…this advertisement is a shocking attempt to just make noise to create a ‘perception’.It is pertinent to note that nowhere they (the producers of Krish) have claimed to be the “biggest hit” or the “highest collection in the history of Indian cinema”. Come to think about it wouldn’t those be the lines that every marketing person craves for. But they know well they cant use these lines and state it as simply and as straight forward as that. So what they do is just throw out the figure of 300 to create the illusion, the perception. They are trying to fool the masses. But what beats us is why hasn’t the advertisement commission taken note of this and taken action on this. Is there an advertising regulatory body thatcan take action against such misleading communication. In case if its a Gross Figure , the movie would have to probably cross the 600 Crore figure to get to the Net collection of 300 crores to surpass Chennai Express Net collection of 227 Crores at the Box Office. Which clearly has not happened. Because if it had truly happenedRoshans would have been the first ones to state that! They are not. They are just playing with words and sending everyone in circles. The Advertisements of 300 Crores making news all over theworld – Can they please clarify whether it is Net collections or Gross Collections? They just declared a worldwide figure of 300.Okay lets look at the options to nail the lies of Krish3 and their empty claim of 300 crores1.Is it a sum of India gross and overseas gross?(Or are we asking too many questions)2. Or India net and Overseas net? (Which is absolutely not possible )3. Or India net and overseas gross?? (Or is it?)Everyone in the industry is talking about it. But it’s being hushed up and pushed under the carpet. We decided to call the bluff because we know what’s finally getting affected is the “business” of movies itself. As commentators of the trade and business it’s our job to report and report the facts. It’s not a higher ground. Its just about doing our job. We have tried to highlight such things in the past…but this time over- the producers concerned having really crossed all boundaries. Numbers were the final test for the performance of a film. When they are messed around and notleft as sacrosanct what they are doing is messing with the mere essence or the parameter by which films are measured. That’s a serious violation. When we write this we know what we are raking up. We have our facts and figures to back up the story. At the same time we are not naďve and its not that we were not aware of the fact that numbers were fudged before this case in discussion. We reiterate that we were aware of such measures used by other producers too…But the margin used to be marginal and measurable. Rounding up numbers to make it look prettier is a part and parcel of business. They did their job and we did ours. We as trade analysts used to reduce those inflated numbers and state the truth. Or atleast try to state the truth given the limited resources we had to double check such figures, in an industry which is not really known for its transperancy. But this time over Krish 3 to say the least is a ‘joke of an inflation’. But we didn’t think staying ‘silent’, or not “talking” about it at all was the solution. To make things worse this time over because the films is sold toindependent distributors the labyrinth of lies could easily be handled and played up by the producer. If “truth” (is there any such beast) is to be believed the figures of Krish is somewhere close to 200 crores in India and yet not crossed it. The actual figures nobody is aware because the fudging as removed the whole fun of the guessing game any more. They claim India is 243 and Overseas is 57 to reach the total of 300. Which means they have earned less than10 millionoverseas. (Which is a gross underperformer)While the truth that goes aroundstates the numbers Krrish truly has earned is as below India- (Hindi version)178 crores add to that (Tamil & Telugu version 12 crores and you have the mammoth total of 190 Crores. The truth of the matter is that Krrish is far from being the Number one. The record as of now safely belongs to Chennai Express. The total worldwide gross of Chennai Express is India is 314 + Overseas 119 cr. So the worldwide record that Krish would have to cross is 433 Cr.The India net figure of Chennai Express is 226 Crores. You don’t need to be Sherlock Holmes to unearth the truth of this super blockbuster. So the writing on the wall is clear that Krrish could not derail the formidable Chennai Express from the record books. The world knows this and has moved on. And hopefully the Roshans will accept this too and try to break the record with their next offering Krish 4 (maybe). As we write this- the focus now shifts to Dhoom3. Will they beat Chennai Express. Will it lay claim to become No.1. Will it? Won’t it? The final test will be on its release date! The public will decide and we as usual will tell you the truth. The web of lies sounds attractive for now but by the year end which is March 31st when you file your tax returns the truth is bound to come to thefore. Because no one should forget what the super hero web spinning fella once said, “with more power comes great responsibility”!

  • @gadha.one, why so jealous dude ?? why can’t you digest the truth that K3 has beaten ce ?? don’t worry, from now on each and every hrithik starrer will beat srk starrer at box office, let me see how much frustrated and jealous srk fans can create stupid negativity. accept the records, don’t be selfish and only think of your fav star’s success.

lol no matter how much you yell, truth is k3 is now the highest domestic grosser. boi is the least trusted site and when all film’s figures were taken from producers, why would we be unfair with k3 ? oh wait because it crushed ce record so jealous srk fans going mad. i mean even many fans like damn, xzone etc are also srk fans but they are not doing such stupid things.

  • K3 worldwide gross is 410 crores. This is unprecedented for Super Hero movie and will never happen gain unless there is K4
Raone was utter garbage. Even the most ardent fan could not sit through it.
Those who proclaim K3 was a copycat movie are missing the point. Several Hollywood movies have shades of insipiration from previous movies and there presentation sets them apart. So is case with K3.

  • k3 was the worst film of our times even the kids didn’t like.. the vfx were tacky and it failed badly…rajkumar has faired poorly too
