While all Akshay Kumar films, with Tasveer 8×10 being an exception, have opened to good numbers at the box office, none of his films have gone on to gross big like a Singh Is King or Welcome.
With less than 25 days to go before Sajid Khan’s much-awaited Housefull hits screens, can the film re-establish Akshay as one of the biggest superstars in the country? Here are 3 reasons why we feel the film should open to huge numbers
- There has been an over-dose of cricket in the last few weeks and moviegoers are expected to return in huge numbers for the biggest commercial entertainer since Aamir Khan’s 3 idiots, which released way back in December last year.
- Usually Akshay Kumar films release every 3 months or so. However with Housefull, Akshay returns to the big screen after a good 5 months (De Dana Dan released in November 2009).
- The star-cast looks fresh and interesting. Also the promos have worked with the audience, which has resulted in immense excitement around the film.
What remains to be seen
- Can Housefull beat the opening week numbers of Singh Is King?
- Can Housefull break the 50 crore mark and be the first non-Aamir film to do so?
- Can Housefull sustain beyond its first Sunday?

I don’t know abt the record but if movie has good content or let say it can entertain the audience then it has high chance of earning 60+ crs…and if it bad also ,flop seems unlikely …..But hope this one is better than all released of last year…
