A. It’s still too early to talk about both films, without watching the trailer. The impact of a trailer can make a huge difference, so all eyes will be on the theatrical trailer of Mohenjo Daro. If it manages to create the kind of impact that the trailer (not teaser) of Bajirao Mastani did, then it’ll have a major advantage.
Rustom is targeted mainly at the multiplex audience, while Mohenjo Daro will have wider pan-India appeal. The Hrithik Roshan film is certain to get 3000 plus screens, Rustom would probably settle for around 1600-1800. Single-screen release of Rustom will be very limited, it’s more due to the genre than the star.
Housefull 3 should finish somewhere around the total of the previous Housefull film (116 crore). There could be a difference of around 5 – 10% depending on whether Udta Punjab releases this week or not.

Be it EDX or Non-EDX, He is equally best in both unlike others (some are good only on EDX like KHANS and some are good only on Non-EDX like Akshay). “MOHENJO DARO” have much needed SUPERSTAR that is HRITHIK the biggest superstar of Hindi Cinema along with Salman, Aamir, Akshay & Ajay.

There is no such negative points but few things that can be killer microbes like virus for MOHENJO DARO
?1, Clash on Non-EDX can stop the film to cross 250 Cr, not 200 Cr.
?2, Non-EDX release always stops Hrithik to give HGFOTY or HGFOAT. Will history repeat or change with “MOHENJO DARO”? have to wait !!
?3, Whenever clash happen with films, there are another kind of negativity due to fans war and also it divides audiences. Other fans whose star films are not clashing spread negativity too by supporting small star film. Most recent examples are BB! vs Haider, Dilwale vs BM.
?4, No chartbuster songs due to Epic theme will harm the film. Many films can put hip hop or rap songs but this one can’t and never.
?5, It is monsoon release that can harm the film if it is heavy rain during its runs.
?6, Few audiences (mainly smart youngsters) don’t like to get bore even for a second and “MOHENJO DARO” will be a slow phase film.
?7, New actress in any Film always keep only Film’s buzz little low.
?8, Few audiences don’t like costume drama or Historical film.
?9, More or less BOI’s lower collections for all Hrithik’s films harm his films and career. Hrithik’s films earn around 25 Cr less in lifetime due to BOI’s lower collections negativity. BOI is biggest foe of HRITHIK’s career.

No surprise here. Hrithik Roshan movies are keenly awaited and MohenjoDaro is one of the biggest movies of 2016. Most of exhibitors would want this movie to have more screens in both multiplex and single screen theaters. If trailer and music can help it achieve even bigger buzz, then Rustom makers may have no choice but to pre-pone the movie, which would be better for both movies.
Rustom can do 100+ crore as a solo release, but it will be very tough if it clashes with a biggie like MohenjoDaro, unless MohenjoDaro has negative WOM.
I am still not sure why the makers of Rustom have opted for this date.

BTW, if you remove holiday factor from jaadoo boy’s career you won’t even a 100cr grosser. While so called holiday dependent Bhai has given two 100cr grossers on non holiday period (out of them one is a huge blockbuster)..
