Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has confessed he stays away from reading film reviews and catches them only if they are funny.
“I don’t read reviews (not taking away from the importance of reviews),” SRK told mediapersons here Wednesday.
“I have a sense of humour and most of the time my sense of humour is about how I can make fun of myself, about 70 percent of the time, and 30 percent of the time it is about making fun of others.
“But they take it very, very, seriously so I stopped doing it,” he added
SRK was in town to celebrate the success of his latest release “Happy New Year.”
“So, I do it just about myself and if it’s a review I try and catch it only if it’s funny. If it’s serious about how filmmaking should be, I am really serious about filmmaking, so I don’t really want to get into that,” he said.
The Farah Khan-directed “Happy New Year”, which released Oct 24, is yielding profits at the box office – it crossed Rs. 100 crore in the opening weekend itself. Produced by Shah Rukh’s Red Chillies Entertainments Pvt. Ltd. (RCE), the film raked in Rs.108.86 crore.

making fun of manoj kumar was something else but saroj khan happens to be very much working and respected woamn who has been behind success of so many people including him..
what was the need to do a spoof on him when on kapils show he DID get annoyed by kapils friends when they disd mimicry of his and stopped the show and gave a piece of his mind but later on turned it around by saying that he was just joking!!
to us viewers he did a very good job of joking if he really was but to me he looke very serious when he said that he doesnt like him to be caricatured and is not a compliment he likes!!!
if its about film making he doesnt want to get into it??
why??so he is serious about film making than he should not joke about it as simple as that..!!
im sure he has been told that his sense of humour of late has not gone down well with the public!!
the public nowadays understand good humour from corny humour.. that he should understand.. there is not much fun going behind the back humour all the time..
today i dont find even kapils jokes very funny and i dont have a laughter belly like navjot sidhu and archana puran singh
to make other people laugh you have to take humour on yourself which im sure he has not been able to after the jokes about hn went flying on whattsapp and on twitterati..

its not a pleasant situation where your piece of art is being shredded to pieces and the downfall continues quite similar to humshakals
im sure by asking people to leave their brains behind to watch your film your brain is now ticking somewhere else and lastly you should be scared of failure

Honestly besides Indicine every critic is a snob. It’s like they’ve set their minds to rate every commercial movie beneath the bar. Then you do get a lot of movies that reinforce that notion.

BO tells you how much your film is liked by General audience…
Critics tells you how right you were in Technical & other aspects of the film….
Nobody does anything without caring abt feedback..
Everyone needs a feedback either from Critics or Public…
Problem is that Critics are Sometimes kinda Biased to off-beat films..
Critics take a film too seriously.. Hell with the Purpose for which the Movie was made… Every film should be like Haider/Queen/Lunchbox..
One should care for reviews when he does a movie like Swades/Talaash/Guzaarish but during times of HNY/D3/krrish 3 /Dabbang they should care abt BO…
Why srk still promoting #hny , no other superstar does that much promotion yr, even he does need to do that.

@ someone- if megha gave hny 0/5 ratings it is good for hny atleast they got anda (egg) from other they can throw that anda on each other but i gave hny negative ranking -2.50 to -2.80. hope srk concentrate on movies instead of dancing in weddings for money, stage shows, promotion, making fake abs, throw mud (making jokes) on manoj kumar or farah khan etc and many more things list is very long making fake abs etc etc.
If he wants to read funny reviews then I recommend you read Anand Babus reviews as they are a laugh riot…. Non stop laugh a minute guaranteed.
