A. The most difficult part for any actor is to establish his / her fan base amongst the audience. Once they do, fans tend to stick. A few failures in between wouldn’t make any difference. The biggest examples are Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan. Both had to go through extreme lows in their careers, but when they return with a film that appears to be well-made from the trailers, the audience will come to watch in big numbers. There was a time when Salman films weren’t even taking an initial at the box office, now he is ruling the domestic box office. Same applies for Emraan Hashmi too. His last few films have had absolutely no appeal towards his core fan-base, nor did any of them have good music. But now that he is returning to the Bhatt camp and working on films like Hamari Adhuri Kahani, his audience should be back in theatres.. in bigger numbers!

Q. As we all know Shahrukh Khan has crossed 49. So who will be the perfect contender for the title of “King of Romance” after him?? – Sandeep Das

A. You can’t replace someone like Shahrukh Khan and the industry doesn’t need a replacement either, at least not when he still has a good 4-5 years ahead of him. Amitabh Bachchan was the ‘Angry Young Man’, he didn’t have a replacement. Every actor has his or her own style that appeals to the audience of that particular generation. The title of ‘King Of Romance’ will forever be synonymous with SRK.

Q. Will Bombay Velvet go the Besharam way? Costs are high, genre is not mass friendly, Anurag Kashyap films haven’t been successful at the box office? – Kshitij Srivastava

A. Bombay Velvet looks like a risky film for sure and the trade isn’t too confident either. The big question is, if a film directed by Kashyap will have enough appeal towards all sections of the audience, which would be important if Bombay Velvet has to recover its costs. There have been reports of the makers not being happy of the final product and that a few scenes were being re-shot. For now, it’s a wait and watch situation. The first look posters have been liked and if the trailer is well-appreciated and the music works, then Ranbir’s presence can ensure a good opening weekend at the box office.

Q. Is Box Office Collection of a film the yard-stick to judge the superstardom of a superstar? – Nipun Kumar Purohit

A. How else can star ranking or power be determined or judged? The opening day / weekend and lifetime collections are both yardsticks to rank stars. In today’s times, any actor who can consistently ensure a 20 crore+ opening is a superstar. Without a strong opening, 150 crore+ grossers are incredibly difficult to achieve. We prefer to stick to lifetime collections to rank starst because there are too many factors involved when it comes to opening day / weekend.

Q. Brothers or Singh is Bling – Which movie will get the better opening?

A. Definitely Brothers. In fact, we expect the opening of Brothers to be twice as big as Singh Is Bling. The scale of Brothers will be HUGE.. we do not want to say much, except wait for the promo! On the other hand, the genre of the Prabhu Deva directed film has taken a massive beating in recent times. People, especially those in major cities, are no longer interested in such films. If Singh Is Bling is liked as much as Deva’s Rowdy Rathore, it could do well in the long run.
