A film that looked promising pre-release, has failed to excite the audience on release. Akshay Kumar’s Boss was expected to collect 45-50 crore in its first extended weekend, which included a holiday for Bakrid.
The film started well at single-screens, but multiplex business throughout the 5-day weekend, especially in big cities, was way below-the-mark.
If Boss was put up reasonably good collections for the weekend, business on Saturday and Sunday was always going to be important. On Saturday, the film dropped at single-screens, but picked up at centres where it wasn’t faring too well.
Collections on Sunday were decent too, but slightly lower than Thursday which was a working day. Monday has witnessed a drop, morning shows were around 40% down from Friday, so all-India business should be around 3 crore net.
Boss will collect around 50 crore in its first extended week (9 days) and finish with lifetime collections of less than 60 crore net.

- Friday – 5.93 crore (24% drop)
- Saturday – 6.2 crore (5% growth)

yestrday we went to watch boss..me nd my 2 frnds..we went ther late for 5 mins..so one of my frnd ask…ticket milegi kya..coz it was sunday evening..nd when we enterd in theater ther were only abt 15 people..shock lag gaya..movie strt huvi aftr sometym we were asking eachother..akshay ki movie hai na..in first haf he is only 15 mins ..2nd haf was avrg..1st haf boring..story good..bt pace is slow..overall movie strictly avrg ..i like akshay nd he was too good in movie..

Akshay kumar was never a superstar, this movie has simply exposed him. Good music,open release date, above average word of mouth(even though the movie is very bad) and still lifetime collections won’t even reach 60 crores, simply outrageous.

We can make fun of others, but it should be sporting and not hurt sentiments. There is a very thin line in being funny or just being silly, which one should understand.
All the stars have like completed 20 odd years in the industry – khans, akshay, ajay, and that in itself is an achievement, as many others have come and gone without any trace, but these guys are still getting stronger and stronger day by day. So some respect surely they deserve, as flops and hits are just part of their journey.
@ jazz, I have been on this site for long, and you can leave Salman fan, but ask any other fans of other stars, and you will get the reply whose fans have commented worse.
