A film that looked promising pre-release, has failed to excite the audience on release. Akshay Kumar’s Boss was expected to collect 45-50 crore in its first extended weekend, which included a holiday for Bakrid.
The film started well at single-screens, but multiplex business throughout the 5-day weekend, especially in big cities, was way below-the-mark.
If Boss was put up reasonably good collections for the weekend, business on Saturday and Sunday was always going to be important. On Saturday, the film dropped at single-screens, but picked up at centres where it wasn’t faring too well.
Collections on Sunday were decent too, but slightly lower than Thursday which was a working day. Monday has witnessed a drop, morning shows were around 40% down from Friday, so all-India business should be around 3 crore net.
Boss will collect around 50 crore in its first extended week (9 days) and finish with lifetime collections of less than 60 crore net.

- Thursday – 7.84 crore (39% drop)
- Friday – 5.93 crore (24% drop)
- Saturday – 6.2 crore (5% growth)
- Sunday – 7.6 crore (22% growth)
- 5 day collections – 40.42 crore

@abhishek jab tak hai jaan was released with stiff competition with son of sardar. Still it gains about 120crore. It was not a solo release. Also 10-15 c was less due tn sudden death of bal thakre

Akki is not worthy of being called superstar. If a circus joker is cast in Boss instead of Akki it would have a bigger opening

2. no show at weekend (mumbai nd some other sector of maharastra) due to death of bal thakrey.

with all due respect to akshay i would like to say that he is not a superstar…. n this is a fact….he is only a star….
Akshay Kumar seems to be money oriented, he should seletc movies carefully and he should not do a film 2 times in a year. He is definitely underrated.
i doubt whether akkians watch his movie or not?
i think they all must be wasting there time in abusing other on indicine .ek baar toh dekhlo bechare ki movie .
very good ..these south Indians need a kick in the ass for making such films and shame on the northindian makers to copy them

@jc…u may be right but if u check i am also a fan of srk and all my comments gets uploaded becoz i have never badmouthed so,just becoz of few people u can’t blame an entire fanclub and even if they did it becoz the moment was too hot to handle and the people got carried away.i hope this fight will stop soon becoz after CE everything looks normal and now all salman,aamir and srk fans got their due of happiness and success what was required..now with positive attitude lets support our fav actors and i will quote your fav salman’s said words “let’s defeat someone with our work not words ” Peace!
