Bombay Velvet has failed to show any growth in business on Saturday, as multiplex business continued to remain dull on Day 2. The film has now collected around Rs 10.5 crore, as per early estimates.
The Ranbir Kapoor starrer is likely to collect Rs 16 crore in its first weekend, which would make it the 9th highest first weekend grosser in 2015.

When the final collections come in, the first Saturday business of Bombay Velvet will be about the same as Ek Paheli Leela.
The occupancy of last week’s release Piku was better than Bombay Velvet at several multiplexes across the country. It should collect around 13-14 crore in its second weekend. Piku is heading for a 65 crore plus total.
Verdict – Disaster
Disaster of the year, it takes a lot to recover frm such performance as an Actor, or Director.
RK should first accept that he has no Fan base as Khans do. You can only rely on contents of the film. So go and find that
2015 is a dull year so far for box office.
High octane films r due in coming months. Hope they will fill the gap.

I watched Bombay Velvet today..First I have never been a big fan of Anurag but to be honest with you, I really loved and enjoyed Dev D and gangs of wasseypur and this time neither I was expecting from him a record breaking film nor have high hopes as well because I knew Bombay velvet is a such attempts usually end up being box office failures in India but at least I was expecting a masterpiece film… I decided not to bother reading the reviews, what a mistake that was!!!.
Anurag disappoint me this time not only me but vast majority of the audience who watched BV feel the same way I do.
While its not one of the worst films I’ve ever watched but it was close!
Bombay Velvet belongs to Johnny Balraj ( Ranbir), a normal good guy gone bad.
Bombay Velvet is over-long and drawn out, but the performances of the some actors are good to pass up,especially Ranbir and Karan but still sometimes the acting didn’t feel sincere except Ranbir as a J. Balraj. The other good things about the film are the makeup, clothes, style,Great cinematography, general 70s vibes. But apart from this, this movie really sucks.
Btw, you can completely see so much of Martin Scorsese’s form being completely ripped off in this film and got nothing new for the ones who commonly watched Scorsese movies.
The production and the costume design were AMAZING!
The ending is predictable, there may some scenes are enjoyable but overall, this is a bravely attempt with badly written and directed film but nothing more.

2015 has been a huge let down so far. 2013 was one of the best years for bollywood. 2014 was not that good either.
