Baahubali 2 to release during Christmas 2016?

One of the most awaited films of 2016, ‘Baahubali 2’, could be targeting a Christmas 2016 release. Industry insiders say, the film will go on floors in the 3rd week of December and shooting is expected to be wrapped up by July or August 2016.

The shoot of the film was delayed because of pre-production work. It was first scheduled to go on floors in September, but was later pushed to November and now December.

There are also reports that about 30% of the second part of the film, has already been shot. The rest will be filmed in a schedule that stretches for 6 months, starting in December and ending in July next year.

Meanwhile, actress Anushka Shetty, who plays the character of Maharani Devasena, is losing weight before she begins shooting for ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’

“I’m still required to lose about seven to eight kilos before I join the sets of Baahubali 2. We could’ve used prosthetics, but since we wanted it to look natural, I decided to gain weight without the aid of technology and make-up” she said.

A source close to the project add  ”Since Bahubali Returns was planned simultaneously with the first Bahubali film, much of the war scenes and some other key sequences have already been shot. Now about 70 percent of the film remains to be shot with Anushka Shetty, Prabhas and Sathyaraj leading the cast this time”

The first ‘Baahubali’ film was the biggest grosser in the history of Telugu cinema and the Hindi version went on to collect more than Rs 110 crore.
