Azhar dropped by more than 50% on Monday and the collections are down further on Tuesday, sealing the fate of the film on Day 5 at the box office.
The Monday collections of the film was about the same as Emraan’s last release Hamari Adhuri Kahaani, which finished with lifetime business of around 37 crore.
Azhar has collected 23.8 crore in 4 days and will end Week 1 with net collections of around 30-31 crore.

Emraan had a big chance with Azhar to deliver a Hit but unfortunately this is also a Flop . Apart from Emraan Balaji will also be really upset with the collections as KKHH 3 was also a massive failure . After Raaz 3 everything has gone wrong with Emraan . Whether he is working with Bhatts or outside banners the result is just the same – Flop . Now the chances of Raaz Reboot are pretty less as Azhar will definitely affect RR . If this continues then Producers will not be interested to work with Emraan and invest their money on him .

Unlike ‘The Dirty Picture’, which was also a biopic on Silk Smitha, had entertainment, entertainment and entertainment whereas, Azhar lacked entertainment.

Emraan is a good actor. However, he signed all stereotype movies early on that had loads of kissing and stuff, and luckily for him, they also had great catchy songs. However, it created an image of him in the moviegoers and it is not easy to shake it off.
Also, similar kinda movies gets boring and you cannot count on luck to have great songs in every second movie.
All this has brought his career graph down.
To shake off your image and still be successful, only few have managed, and though Emraan is trying hard, it is just not clicking.
I liked his acting in OUATIM, and I hope he gets the lucky break once again.
Sad to see another good film of Emraan struggling at boxoffice.
Of course it had to flop. There is no way Indian cricket fans are going to forgive Azhar for what he did. Bloody cheat. Doesn’t deserve a bio pic.

The clumsy screenplay makes it an easily forgettable flick! It is based on some serious issues, but I didn’t feel any genuine tension! The BGM doesn’t support the film either. I also couldn’t feel the characters.
Emraan and Lara Dutt are honest with their role. But enough of Azhar is not found within Emraan. In many sequences, the actor reminded me of himself. He tried and succeeded to some extents, but in the past we have seen better performances in biopics and hence, we would always expect better! Kunaal Roy Kapoor and Gautam Gulati are poor in their performances. Nargis is the another weak link in the film. Prachi is decent.
Azhar certainly keeps you engaged, but it disappears from your mind within 10 mins as you finish watching it.
