Akshay Kumar’s Airlift is unlikely to be his biggest grosser (currently Rowdy Rathore at 134 crore), the reason for which is the limited appeal of the film at smaller cities and towns.
The film has collected 107 crore in 12 days and should end Week 2 at around the 110 – 111 crore mark. The drop from Week 1 to Week 2 will be around 65% and if Week 3 and Week 4 have similar drops, Airlift would collect around 14-15 crore after Week 2 – which would take the lifetime business of the film to Rs 120 – 125 crore range.
Airlift is likely to be Akshay’s 2nd highest grosser, beating his other 100 crore grossers Housefull 2 and Holiday: A Solider Is Never Off Duty.
The big question will now be if Airlift can beat the 4-year-old January record set by Hrithik Roshan’s Agneepath.

125cr for a niche film like Airlift is beyond expectations. When i walked out of the theatre after finishing airlift i thought 100cr will b a touch and go but it ended up crossing 100cr mark in just 10days..!!! Superb
It will hv a very positive effect on Housefull3 which has appeal towards every section of the audience. If content meets expectations then HF3 can emerge among top5 grossers of the year

With a favourable release period it could have sustained a little better like 140 to 150 cr Wom is really very good.
TWMR did 150 crore with 8 cr opening. Megastar Akki cannot do 125 cr with 13 crore opening. Shame on his 10-15 fans stardom.
Republic day collection gave movie a chance but drop next day sealed fate of the movie.
Still its an excellent movie and i am happy that will gross 125 approx.

My expectation was to cross RR but that will not possible without Single screen good response so it stopped Airlift to collect less than RR. 120cr+ will be fare result.
House full 3 certainly become his highest grosser as thing stand today unless the content turned out ridiculous as we have seen how audience rejecting big films also when content is bad and if House full 3 have clash than it will be tough.
Whatever Airlift deserves the success and attention.

for eg: airlift can easily collect 170+ if it was starring salman

Its still very good for a niche film with no lucrative holidays . Khans may would have made this movie a bigger hit but the fact is they didnt because they are afraid to come out of their comfort zone .
