Airlift has collected Rs 83.5 crore in its first week at the box office, which is the highest ever for a film starring Akshay Kumar in the lead. However, after a huge extended 5-day weekend, Airlift has shown bigger than expected drops on both Wednesday and Thursday.
In Week 2, the film has retained most of its shows at multiplexes, where it performed very well in the first week. The growth that it manages to show on Saturday and Sunday, will decide if Airlift can go on to be the highest grossing Akshay Kumar film – beating the previous best of Rowdy Rathore (134 crore).
Airlift is already a clean-hit at the box office and has every chance of going to be achieve super-hit status.

Movie has missed the chance of scoring 150 crores..Now will settle in between 125-135 crores..Superhit status for sure..

I think the WOM was somewhat overrated by many people,no doubt it is a good film but certainly not as entertaining as TWMR,so comparing it with TWMR is’nt wise!
But it will surely cross 120crs in spite being an offbeat docu-drama film.
Remind you,not many niche films have crossed 100crs..I can only think of Barfi and Bhaag milkha bhaag,so it’s quite an achievement for Airlift..Really happy!

Haha I remembered the euphoria that everyone was experiencing when indicine decided to compare the box office collections to TWMR as if it really stood a chance. Now everyone would be wishing silently in their hearts not to revive such a topic.
Airlift doesn’t have potential to cross Rowdy Rathore. Let Alone TWMR. Aksahy Kumar is a highly overrated star.
