One of Bollywood’s oldest production house Yash Raj Films diversifies into a new line of business. By launching a new banner YRF Entertainment, they will cross boundaries for producing Hollywood movies.
YRF Entertainment has defined its business policy as being “focused on developing and producing feature films for the U.S. and international marketplace.”
The Yashraj Films banner is one of the biggest and most reputed production houses in India, which was founded by the legendary Yash Chopra more than four decades ago. This company will fund the newly launched YRF Entertainment which will be headed by Chopra’s youngest son Uday as the CEO. It was Uday’s love and passion for American films that encouraged him to start this new venture. Jonathan Reiman will support him in development and production.
The banner’s first project “The Longest Week” began shooting last week in New York. This Hollywood comedy features Jason Bateman, Olivia Wilde and Billy Crudup. Along with Uday the other producers are Jonathan Reiman, Chris Marsh, Stone Douglass and Taylor Materne.
Written and directed by Peter Glanz, ‘The Longest Week’ is a story of bratty man-child played by Jason Bateman, who still lives with his parents in a Manhattan hotel, but suddenly finds himself in love with his best friend’s heartthrob, played by Olivia Wilde.
