Youtube no longer banned in Pakistan

Well, here’s good news for Pakistani readers who miss out on watching the latest trailers and songs of Bollywood movies on popular video-sharing website Youtube.

Pakistan’s National Assembly has approved a resolution to lift a ban on Youtube. Pakistan People Party’s Shazia Marri submitted a resolution demanding the ban to be lifted which was unanimously accepted by the lower house of parliament.

Google’s YouTube was first banned in Pakistan more than 6 years ago on February 22 2008, by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority because of objectionable non-Islamic videos. About four days later, the ban was lifted after Youtube removed objectionable videos from their website.

A couple of years later, the website was banned for the second time, but was unblocked after the removal of objectionable content on May 27 2010.

Youtube was banned for the third time after the trailer of “Innocence of Muslims” was not removed. The American film resulted in death of more than 20 people.

  • @indicine they only pass the resolution, not open the Youtube…may be it will take some time. The resolution is just a formal application… i am from Pakistan. The resolution was presented by the same political party who banned it.

  • @babajee dat was a sarcastic one..
Hav respect foh others n their countries
ppl like u are degrading our country.. pakistanis are too good humans.. They are just lil messed up bcoz of the terrorist organisations which are affecting them more than it is influencing ours(u might hav heard abt several blasts there).. The common ppl arent to blame.. They are just like wat we are.. We were brothers.. We are brother n in sha Allah we wil remain brothers.
Btw we being indians shd make the move first to live wid peace n love

  • @babaji ki lungi Well atleast Pakistanis will watch ‘trailers n songs’ on Youtube which is more than you do as you sit there infront of your monitor day n night watching old classic X-men cartoons dreaming of the next VILLAINOUS character to star in Rohit 4…!

  • @damnnnn I cant do it but I have to say respexxXxx for putting the lungi wearing babaji in his place- Im a NRI now but when I was in India I saw great anger n hostility towards Pakistan as a nation but living in the UK now I see so much mutual respect n affection between Pakistanis, Indians, Bangladeshis n Sri Lankans that I believe one day our differences there in South Asia which are more political than societal will come crushing down. People are the same no matter what race, culture, religious belief bcoz we all just want to live in peace n prosper in a happy world without violence n hatred. Peace to all

  • @papaji ka spoon .Perfect example of a Hrithik fan. No matter he is hated by millions worldwide, and has few thousand fans.
