Yash Chopra honoured

Yash Chopra adds another feather to his cap after being honoured at The House of Lords and House of Commons after which he addressed the gathering and shared his thoughts about cinema.

On 17th May, he had lunch at the House of Lords and in the evening was honoured at the House of Commons, where he shared his thoughts with various dignitaries, community leaders and the press. What made this occasion even more special was that he was invited by the ROKO Cancer charity (a cause very close to the hearts of both Mr. & Ms. Chopra) to accept Patronage to the Charity and was facilitated by Rt. Hon. Keith Vaz (MP), Tony Baldry (MP) and John Barret (MP).

Yash Chopra said, ?Indian Cinema is plagued with its own cancer of piracy, the blatant theft of copyright of intellectual property, the cognizance to the creators? dues… we have been trying to find a cure for this, but it has now spread in to the roots of the system and I wonder if we will ever find this much needed cure…

The ROKO cancer society has embarked on their own battle to fight cancer and has been doing a splendid job in creating awareness for the dreaded disease among young women… indeed a yeoman?s service to society ? I applaud their efforts and pay my own humble tribute for their service.

Good Music has been known to cure diseases… good films provide solace to suffering people… so while they work hard at medical aspects of this disease, I promise to continue making better films and music so we are also able to relieve those who are suffering in the only way we know how?.

This very classy & graceful evening was attended by Ministers and MP?s as well as the cr?me de la cr?me of London community.
