Writer Chetan Bhagat turns assistant director

By stepping into the shoes of an assistant director, novelist Chetan Bhagat has finally fulfilled his desire of filmmaking. The author will be assisting director Abhishek Kapoor in the adaptation of his novel 3 Mistakes of My Life. The shooting for which is expected to begin in March.

Sounding quite excited at the prospect of assisting the Rock On!! director, Chetan says “Abhishek is a pal. We hang out together, so being a part of his project would be easy for me.”

The movie will be produced by UTV, who have also purchased the rights of his novel ‘Revolution 2050’. The film is scheduled to be shot in Ahmedabad. As the story is about three guys stepping into a new life, three fresh faces will be cast in lead roles.

Chetan Bhagat’s previous novel ‘Five Point Someone’ was adapted into 3 Idiots by Rajkumar Hirani, the movie was a box-office blockbuster. Yet another novel called ‘One Night at the Call Center’ was also made into a film titled ‘Hello’ starring Salman Khan.
