Actress Hema Malini, whose last production and directorial venture “Tell Me O Kkhuda” failed at the box office, says she is in no mood to invest money in another film as it is a risky proposition.
“I made a film recently but it did not work at all, my heart broke. If you tell me to make another film, I will not. If you give me money to make it, then I will. But I don’t want to make a film because it is too much of a risk,” the 63-year-old said here.
“Tell Me…” was meant to relaunch the actress’ daughter Esha Deol into Bollywood, but her efforts failed to reap the desired results. Now, while Hema is ready to act and dance, film production is not on the anvil for her.
“I am not meant for that, my gestures are different, so I dance. If you to tell me to work in a film, I will, I act well, I can do that. But I will not produce a film,” she added on the sidelines of Morari Bapu’s Nathdwara Festival.
Hema turned filmmaker with the 1992 film “Dil Aashna Hai”, starring Shah Rukh Khan and late Divya Bharti.
Hema is an acclaimed classical dancer and gives various spirituality-based performances. However, Hema feels no one will ever make a film on mythology.
“They (filmmakers) must be very religious… everyone fears god. But the instant they come out, they see themselves as very modern. They are like, ‘Oh what is this mythological and all!’ I don’t think they will ever make a film on god. TV serials yes, but film audience is different,” Hema said.
Tell me o kkhuda failed at BO coz it challenged the magnum opus Ra.one..
Despite promoted by salman khan,it barely gained attention of the viewers..
Same fate was of himesh reshammiya’s Damadamm(released on the same day) which was also promoted by the great salman khan…
viewers hardly know the name of these movies…

i love HEMA becouse she is the rare persons who give films to shah rukh khan in his early days also SRK him self loves hema and he attended the music launch of TELL ME O’KHUDDA ( spelling may be incorrect ) , but the mistake she did was that she competed the most waited movie of the last decade i.e RA.ONE.
and the biggest flop of the last decade i.e RA.ONE.
