Second day of the Dhoom 3 contest got a decent response. Not quite as good as the first day, but we received more than 1800 entries in less than 3 hours from all over India. The contest was open for a very short period of time.
More than 32 readers predicted that the film would collect Rs 33.5 crore on Day 2 and about 13 people were certain that Dhoom 3 would collect Rs 33.25 cr. But two readers came closest to the ‘actuals’ released by YRF.
Both ‘Deepak’ and ‘Hussain’ predicted Rs 33.35 crore, when the ‘actuals’ were 33.36 cr. But since we had to pick just one winner and ‘Deepak’ sent more than 6 entires with different figures, ‘Hussain’ is the winner of the contest.

Aamir you promised you won’t give manipulated collections for Dhoom: 3. Then why YRF is saying 36 crores and BOI 33.5 crores (all versions)? BOI will update more accurate collections in a couple of days but still there is difference. Is YRF not listening to you and giving fake collections? Please don’t lose your integrity like Hrithik and Rakesh Roshan.
Aamir should not become overconfident by Dhoom 3’s record breaking collections. Even if Tusshar Kapoor was the villain it will break records due to Dhoom brand.
I predicted 33.3 crores for Saturday. :(

@x seriously if tushar was the hero than also it will become highest grosser, are you fool K3 was hritik roshan movie since KMG but still its non-holiday collection was 21cr all version first day while D3 is 33.5cr first day, it is not easy dear srk don sequal was opened to 15.5cr on non-holiday on 23rd dec 2011 and Dabangg2 of salman opened to 19.5cr on 21st dec 2012 both were sequals, its not easy for any body to work inD3 and pull the audience into theatre, Aamir can’t take all credit alone but the fact is he is the backbone of this film and this kind of huge opening possible due to him, if you don’t have gut to accept the truth, better to be silent instead of making funny stupid lame excuses.

its dhoom powr not amir.talash was a non holiday but 14cr on day 1 for tingu.i like d3 colection as i am boxoffice lover but amir is just 25% contributor.

@aks – Oh please, in which universe are Don and Dabangg franchisees (or for that matter Krrish) bigger than Dhoom? Also this is the third installment while those two were second installments. I give the required credit to Aamir but it should not be over-estimated.

there is no doubt that business is increasing rapidly, and both srk and Salman fan following is much more than what Aamir has, dabangg2 & don 2 both released before critsmas and on non holiday both movies has achived highest non-holiday collection that time, but in 2011 srk ra-1 collected 23.5cr single day collection while Don 2 had 15.5cr on non holiday and both released on same print, but because of Don was a franchise it Don 2 opening day was way lower than Ra1 2nd day, and Bodyguard opening day of 21cr(while bodyguard was released on 2200 screen, Don 2 was on 3000).
comes to Dabangg 2 which got highest ever screen that time of 3500 screens and was much hyped and Salman’s most love movies franchise and comparing to Salman stardom it achieved 19.5cr still below his own Bodyguard’s opening day collection while dabangg 2 released after 1year 4 month than bodyguar and with 1250-1300screen more & a franchise.
now come back to D3, ETT hold the highest day collection of 30.52cr and was released on 15th august 2012, almost 1 year and 4 month before of D3, and released on 3300 screen, while D3 released on 4100 screen in hindi, it has 175min duration while ETT has 130min duration.The highest Opening day record of ETT was break by D3 after more than one year, and that was on a non-holiday,none of the most awaiting film ever done the magic to just collect 72% more than previous non-holiday opener, and you people think its a small achievement that even actor like Tushar Kapoor was in D3 he will also achieve that, guys if you want to appreciate your star’s achievement, first try to appreciate other work, if not than stick to your non practical thought.
now I can say if Krrish3 would HV been released on 20th DEC(Xmas season) it would HV done 40cr on Fri and 300cr for sure lifetime
. D3 agar diwali pe release hoti to b utna hi kamati jitna K3 ne diwali pe kamaya. Xmas and eid realises has more potential than diwali releases. yes content also plays its role.. I didn’t liked D3 content.

Dhoom 3 has broken all records as per both BOI and producer figures.
So it doesnt matter if there is a difference in colections.
But 95% of all media believes producer figures, even Indicine.
So majority people believe that Krrish 3 beat CE lifetime by a huge margin. Congrats to Hrithik fans.
