There is tremendous buzz around Dharma Productions’ upcoming film ‘Shaandaar’ which releases in theatres next week. The film stars Shahid Kapoor, an incredibly talented actor, whose films, more often than not, have under-performed at the box office.
The biggest hit of Shahid’s career is Sooraj Barjatya’s Vivaah, which is his only box office ‘blockbuster’, followed by Imtiaz Ali’s Jab We Met, Prabhu Deva’s R.. Rajkumar and Vishal Bhardwaj’s Haider.
Now, with Shaandaar set to take a good start at the ticket window, the big question is, will the film go on to be the highest grosser of Shahid Kapoor’s career. Currently, his biggest grosser is R.. Rajkumar which went on to do business of Rs 67 crore.

There is definitely not TREMENDOUS buzz for Shaandaar as repeatedly said by indicine,Songs have’nt been that good,neither any one of the them have gone onto become a chartbuster.
Still the opening will be good,since 22nd october is dussehra holiday..so it can do around 14.5-15crs.
And pretty obviously it will be Shahid’s highest grosser..All the best!
yes …. he is way more better actor than worst actor Emraan Hashmi. Even Rajpal Yadap acts better than Flop star Emraan.
Even Arjun Kapoor gave a solid opening with Alia Bhatt,so the credit won’t entirely go to Shahid though.
It will collect between 60-80 crores…bt there is no such option to vote!! And i dnt think there is ‘Tremendous’ Buzz about Shaandaar!!! No song has become real chartbuster!! Plot is same rom-com…only Alia’s stardom can ensure the bo collection!! Shahid’s goodwill after Haider can attract multiplex audiences in first 2-3 days…rest is depending on Alia and twist of story(if there is any)!!
Is it just me but i have to stay i’m really not feeling the buzz. Online yes, but Shahid always buzzes online, his fan base online is really strong and active. It doesn’t seem like the songs have clicked that much. Alia will bring in the opening though, but i’m doubtful of 100 crores. It’s not easy to make 100 crore anymore. This year has shown that

Shaandaar is generatin good buzz because of Shahid coming after Haider, Alia Bhatt who is very popular with youngsters and the trailer which clicked well with the audience . As for the songs both Gulaabo and the title song were very bad . I think it will be Shahid’s Highest Grosser but i don’t think it will do 100 CR . Because it is a typical Rom Com . It is releasing 3 weeks before Diwali and it is a Pre Diwali period which has not been great for Bollywood . It will do very good on First Day as it is Dussehra . It will have a 4 Day weekend but the weekdays will play a very important role . On 30th October 2 movies will release Main aur Charles and Titli . Both are offbeat movies and have no face value so it will not dent the business of Shaandaar in the 2nd week . If the WOM is good it can do good business and heathy Lifetime Collections .
Can’t believe Shahid is yet to cross 100 crores when his juniors like Ranbir, Ranveer, Varun, Sidhharth, Arjun have all done it.
Realistically, it can cross 100 crore as Alia Bhatt is quite popular, Shahid is also coming off after his 1st clean hit in years in Haider, and it has a favorable ‘rom-com’ genre.
But, I think it would do around 80 crores. I know they both are quite popular, but trailers had nothing new to offer apart from light comedy and typical rom-com storyline.
It is not looking that interesting to me..but since there won’t be any big release till Prem Ratan Dhan Payo so I may give it a watch and also it is releasing on a holiday..
Haider has put Shahid in a different league.He isn’t the same actor anymore.It’s just the matter of time he proves his star power

Not interesting in Shandaar, neither the trailer nor the music applead me both audio and visually. Its bad to see the director who gives best film of last year “queen” worked with Dharma production in a usual rom-com. What a waste of talent. I hope Shandar prove me wrong.
Shahid is a very talented actor and I’m a big fan of his(as my name also indicates!) but I don’t want & believe a stupid Rom-Com film Shaandaar to do well at the box office!
