Answer: The trailer of Baby has been received well. It has already garnered a good number of views on Youtube and the general public has liked the trailer. Neeraj Pandey films have never disappointed, so expectations of a quality film are high.
Having said that, the buzz on Twitter or social media websites only helps in creating a perception that a film is highly-anticipated. Most within the trade are well aware of the fact that the film has no buyers for Rs 50 crore, which is what the makers are trying to sell it for. The best price that is being offered is Rs 39 cr for the theatrical rights.
Also, there are two factors that could go against the film. One, the industry is shaken after a disastrous November and a poor 2014 as a whole. Even big films like Jai Ho, Happy New Year, Holiday and Bang Bang haven’t performed as per trade expectations. Kick wasn’t hugely profitable either, considering the high prices that it was sold for. Investors are unwilling to shell out big money and are generally playing it safe. The second reason is the title. Baby is not a mass-appealing title, which could affect its collections at mass centres where Akshay Kumar films open well.
The average distributors share of Akshay Kumar’s last 4 or 5 films have been around 30-40 cr, which is what is being offered to Baby. At the same time, the cost of production and actor fees of Baby is much higher than 40 cr, which is why the makers want a higher price.

mahia pandey’s wednesday did not collect more than 10cr remember. special 26 all the actors got praise, don’t forget akki was the protagonist of s26, the central plot revolved around ajay singh and his right hand man sharmaji. the thing is pandey taking akki gives the film some star value and allows a wider release, take akki away then this film would not sell high price with large screen space. ofcourse content will matter for this film and having a big star is a huge bonus. you can say the same for for PK which has raju hirani. akki is the type of superstar who is capable of working with any producers or directors, imo name doesn’t matter otherwise he wouldn’t of done shaukeen and entertainment, both imo terrible films. brother might not fail critically, johar has a good links with critics. special 26 did a semi hit business despite offbeat genre, same what talaash did. holiday did over 100 cr with a serious genre on terrorism.

Trailer, Neeraj’s direction and Akki’s presence has convinced me to watch 1st show and I couldn’t careless about its music now. But, it will need good music to do well up to expectations in mass centers.
