Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has said he would rather work in the Hindi Film Industry and make films for his audience, rather than go and search for work in the west.
“Working in the west doesn’t interest me particularly, what interests me is a good film. It should be a film that touches my heart and I feel I can perform in.. There have been number of offers to me from Hollywood but I did not like the scripts”
The actor added that he has built a relationship and emotional connect with his audience for the last 27 years.
“Why I don’t feel like doing that (working in an international film) is because I feel I have an emotional connection with my audience, with the people of this country. It is a relationship that we have built over 27 years, something that I value a lot”
“I don’t want to leave my audience behind. I will not be happy doing that. These are my people, we belong to each other. If I go to some other place and strange people react to my movie I may not feel the same. Emotionally, I would rather work here, but if there is an offer from America, China or Japan which excites me I will do it”

There needs to be a connect with the audience, as you can see Indians and other nationals just doing a particular type of character roles that connect to the american audience. They are simply typecasted in few particular roles.
Kamal Hasan is a King is south, but he couldn’t achieve the same success in Hindi, the same would happen if Aamir, salman or srk does a regional movies. They will never be able to connect to the locals.
There is a perspective of the audience and they see every person in that perspective. Just read the struggles other nationals go through in Hollywood and other film industry. It takes a long struggle to be accepted in the main stream of any industry.
So, the reality is that once you are an established star in an industry it becomes double the work to gain recognition in another industry and very few wants to go through the grind.
Haters……..AAMIR is the baap of bollywood….

@vicky, yes makkhi and lallu rocks. both have given highest number of flops and disasters than anyone else. even more than tushar kapoor, abhishek bachchan, fardeen, zayed, etc. No one can come close to aamir.
