The big box office clash between Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani and Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale is confirmed. The distributors of Bajirao Mastani had started blocking single-screen theatres a couple of months ago and the makers of Dilwale too have done the same.
On paper, Dilwale is a much bigger film, both in terms of star cast and a universally appealing genre. However, Bajirao Mastani is likely to be promoted as a film with larger-than-life sets and high production values. In short, a film that is best enjoyed only on the big screen.
The producer of the film, Krishika Lulla of Eros Entertainment, is confident that her film will survive the clash and do well at the box office.
Talking about the clash, Indian Express quoted Lulla as saying ”As a producer who wouldn’t have preferred a solo release? I am sure they (Dilwale) would have also preferred the same. (But) Everybody has a right to come at their own time. We had announced our dates earlier.”
About 3 years ago, Eros first decided to release their film against a SRK starrer when Ajay Devgn’s Son Of Sardaar and Jab Tak Hai Jaan released on the same day. Both films did well at the box office and Krishika is hoping the result, this time around, is the same.
“There are so many movies which have come together. So, I am hoping both films do well” she said.

It’s just simple as abcd. If Ranveer or deepika feel comfortable with the clash so do their fans good and fine,they must have their reasons or assume they are prepared. While if SRK thinks the same so does his fans good and fine. The most important thing for both fans should be their believe and trust in their actors. If I were Srkfans honestly I would not eBen bother bcos I already know what he can generate with just 1 movie so why the panic button? I think it also goes for clashes that will take place next year too. Srk and Salman too. I want Dilwale to have a solo release on 25 dec because a big movie is slated to release on 18th..had there been no other release this Christmas I would be fine with Dilwale coming on 18th and having a 4 week run..I still believe a 3 week run would be enough for Dilwale to cross 300 crore

Coming to the festive releases, your shameless criminal khan just misused the Eid advantage with back-to-back masala craps for four complete years, but could’t surpass the 4 years old 3-idiots record. anyways, this will be their biggest mistake after Saawariya which clashed with SRK’s OSO and the result? OSO become Blockbuster whereas Saawariya disaster, & SLB cried too, admitted by him .
But this time if SLB will clash he will cry for his entire life since his BM is his dream project with 150cr + budget which can’t be recovered with a solo + big festival release, so how it can be recovered by clashing with the King of clashes SRK’s film ? that too with his masala masala ?
Clash will surely affect both films, but Dilwale has potential to become Blockbuster with a clash even but that’s not the case for BM, it will become a disaster without any doubt, even with a best wom BM can’t get a hit tag , this is what you will witness on this Christmas if Clash happens .

@Rohit : Every actor’s fans want their star’s masala film to get solo release to get more screens & better tag/Bus at the end. Salman’s fans were crying bec of Sunny deol’s film ( who is a disaster star, wouldn’t even get any screen with clash even, so MB is way bigger film compared to Ghayal return). With clash you may get blockbuster tag but you may not break opening, weekend , lifetime etc record bec of less screens. for e.g OSO which got Blockbuster tag , become ATHG, HGOTY both in India and overseas but without clash it could become first 100cr film even that’s why…. even though Saawariya was way smaller film than BM, same case for Don 1 which could break opening record (missed with some crores bec of clash) & could become blockbuster with a solo rel, Clash can’t be healthy for any1 be it a big clash or small, so don’t behave like an idiot .
