She proudly said she has celebrated womanhood in her highly acclaimed film ‘The Dirty Picture’ and the viewers have loved her act.
After sweeping all the popular awards this year, the truly deserving Vidya Balan has received yet another prominent award – the 59th National award for Best Actress for her performance as Silk.
Vidya boldly portrayed the role of Southern siren Silk Smitha in The Dirty Picture directed by Milan Luthria.
The list of National Award winners was announced today. The awards will be given away on May 3rd 2012.

well.. what I think is that: if those hot scenes which Vidya did in her film were deleted.. so we (for sure) would’ve seen the theatres in India.. empty! exactly like the character she played in the movie.. Silk Smitha, silk goes and sets in the theatre and she looks around and finds noone.. and when those scenes starts, where she sings and dances dirty, she notice all the young boys and men enter the cinema, enjoy her dirty scenes, and then leave!!!
I think that’s what made her win the awards for this film and nothing else, her good acting (alone) would never make her succeed.. so think pls.. why such a movie became a blockbuster?!!
Vidya will endup like Silk Smitha one day.. noone will turn around to see her or feel her.. I am sure
Fathiya.. Wait till the release of Kahaani. Although I dont think the film will open as well as Dirty Picture, for the budget it has been made at, it should be a decent success.
You can’t deny the fact that Vidya Balan is a good actress. She is one of the best around. Parineeta, Paa, Ishqiya, Noone Killed Jessica are proof of that.
You can’t compare Vidya to Silk Smitha! Come on!! Vidya was just playing a character and she did it so well.

Ab Smith: she’s a good actress and I liked her when I saw her in Parineeta.. that’s not the issue.. were No one Killed Jessica and Parineeta.. were they some super hit movies or blockbusters?! no ofcourse! Ishqiya was a bad film.. I didn’t like it and she said (herself) during an award show, while receiving the best actress award the following: ” If I knew already that saying some bad language and do bad stuff would win me the best actress award.. I’d hv done it long time ago” see the way she thinks this actress!!! so she didn’t mind doing anything to reach what she wanted to and be one of the best actresses in bollywod! c’mon friend.. why don’t u admit that becasue of those dirty scenes her movie did v well?!!!
Kahani will be a flop film, after The Dirty Picture, a movie like Kahani would not work
