Akshay Kumar’s Holiday has beaten Salman Khan’s Jai Ho on its 6th day at the box office, even though the former took a much slower start and released on 20% fewer screens.
The story is the same with 2 States and Gunday, as both took a better opening than Holiday, but the Akshay starrer has shown better trends.
Holiday is also the 2nd highest first week grosser of 2014 in just 6 days. However, the film is unlikely to beat Jai Ho’s record of 87.59 cr in 7 days – Holiday will fall short by a huge margin of 20 crore.
Overall, it’s been a decent run for Holiday so far, but the opening should have ideally been in the 15-16 crore range.

Even 70 cr king akki is a bigger star than salman… Hahaha with holiday almost certain of crossing jai ho… Salmans fans are feeling jealous of SRK n want holiday to cross JTHJ collection. Truth is that SRK with clash can give Better collections than salman(who according to ringuians and lallu fans is a megastar) and everyone knows what is aamir khan without 4500 screens,hiked ticket price( higher than Chennai Express at almost every theatre ranging from rs 5 to 65),biggest brand,abhishek,katrina,yrf

I’m very happy coz success of HOLIDAY. But don’t blame SALMAN’s JAI HO movie.Holiday sure beat Jai ho but also beat BAKRA.ONE, DON FLOP 2 and JTHJ.

So it has proved that if movie content is good then if by chance opening is not upto date then it does not matter because of in the long run movie will collect some fare collections….nd the same case here with holiday…nd holiday will collect gud collection in second nd third week too….overall hit declared.

It is sad that despite being well accepted Holiday’s business won’t do justice to the appreciation it has received. Anyone who has seen thuppakki will know the film is blockbuster material. if only the music had been better, different heroine, Vidyut jamwal as villain, etc. had been done the film might have done business as it’s potential deserved.

To be honest, I saw the movie today at Synergy Talkies, Pushpa Road,New Delhi. It largely succeeds to stir your emotions. It’s a perfect blend of intelligence & entertainment.

holiday is far better than crapiest jai ho but we couldn’t say anything as indicine is saying holiday will fall short.but still however it’s a south remake,so it will destroyed as already I said before however akki fans couldn’t believe me.now it’s time for crapiest kock,it also couldn’t go beyond average verdict.END OF CRAPIEST SOUTH REMAKE ERA ALREADY BEGUN and copy paste south remake artists are now in danger.
@Indicine, you Verdicted Holiday hit on your box office top 5,why? the film needs at least another 25-30 cr to be hit,isn’t it?
First week of Holiday still 19/20 cr. less than Jai Ho. But hopefully, Holiday will sustain better than jai ho in 2nd week. I am expecting a 27+ cr. second week for Holiday and 8+ cr. rest of lifetime.

It deserves to be the best maintaining film among all the big films released this year.. I hope it ends up having the biggest second weekend and the biggest second week for 2014 by a big margin…it should collect anything more than 30 crore in the entire second week..
