The best Bollywood film so far in 2015?

Around 15 medium to high budget films have released this year and only three films have done well at the box office. Baby, Badlapur and Dum Laga Ke Haisha were not only the most critically acclaimed films this year, but these were the film that have done fairly well at the ticket window too, clearly indicating that the audience is only willing to pay for good cinema.

All other films have been rejected outright, including the keenly-awaited Shamitabh starring Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush.

  • Baby, DLKH, Badlapur are only films that I liked this year, along with South Indian “I” (below expectation, still good).

  • @sss_original,BTW that’s my power.you can’t even sleep in night with out thinking of me.go ahead poor boy.

  • I couldn’t watch much, except two – they were Badlapur and Dolly ki Doli.

Badlapur was an amateurish film, and the collection is due to Varun and Nawaz. The direction is heavily inspired from western crime movies, but the execution is a big let down. The movie goes around aimlessly without any aim or logic.

Dolly Ki Doli was a bit more entertainining. The script needed to have gone in to more depth on Sonam’s character – Dolly, as somehow the connect in the end was not convincing to feel about her chosen way of life. The songs were just average, but Sonam did her part well.

    Dolly, I would rate 2.5/5, and Badlapur 1.5 / 5.

  • @Babaji : Raghu killed that girl and her husband becoz he wanted to take badla. As for the climax, I liked it. If it had a simple climax like Raghu killing Liak for taking revenge or anything similar to that, it would have become a film of regular typical revenge drama. I liked the twist. The characters are very memorable and they live in your heart for a long time. The BGM was perfect imo. I know it didn’t have much BGM, But sometimes it’s good when you keep things simpler rather than complicated. I was satisfied that they didn’t put much effort on BGM.

Most of the people consider Baby as a Great film becoz of its Desh-premi story! For me, it was a good film, but not great.

  • I enjoyed Shamitabh, but Badlapur was fantastic. I haven’t seen Baby, and Dum Laga ke Haisa hasn’t been released over here

  • O my god msg got some votes aahhh who are they?????please indicine trace thier ip addresess so police can jail them

  • @babaji you failed to understand that why Varun killed Vinay and his wife, that was exactly to point the grey shade of Varun. The film was promoted as only Nawaz has negative role but ultimately Both Varun and Nawaz has gray shades. The climax itself suggest that in order to take Revenge Varun become himself is a evil person that was the point Nawaz put in conversation to Varun that ” Main to bura aadmi tha,2 min je liye bahek gaya and goli chala di Lekin tum to ache the par tum bure kyon ban gaye 2 innocent logo ko markar”.I also liked the climax as it justified why there was a twist and Varun was somehow wrong. But yes the twist may be not liked by all.
That also happened with me while watching Ek villain as that film was promoted as both Ritesh and Sid is villain though the title not but while watching film is Ritesh show all the way while Sid character was completely different for me than it was promoted as the film.
But yes Badlapur and EK villain both were highly critically acclaimed but they were not that good.Baby definitely better for me.

  • 1. Badlapur
    2. Baby (As it is a average portrait of Mossad kidnapping of Adolf Eichmann from Argentina in 1960 )

  • Baby, but the title is not suited for the movie. It could have been a bigger hit if the Akshay’s looks, Publicity and the title of the film were taken care.

  • I think “Baby” is an awesome film and I’ve watched most of this film but my vote goes to Baby! ? Akshay Kumar is an awesome action king! Akshay all the way!
