Tezz has achieved the unthinkable! The film has managed to beat Abbas-Mustan’s Players, and takes top spot as the biggest disaster of the year.
Tezz weekend all-india nett (collections of Players in brackets)
- Friday – 3.5 crores (4.6 crores)
- Saturday – 3.5 crores (4.5 crores)
- Sunday – 4.25 crores (5.75 crores)
- Weekend Total – 11.25 crores (14.85 crores)
These are absolutely disastrous figures for an action film made on such a high-budget, with a reasonably big star cast.
What went wrong? Well, Tezz was poorly promoted. The trailers had made no impact, the pre-release buzz was close to nil and the release of Hollywood film ‘ The Avengers’ made a huge dent in collections. Infact, ‘The Avengers’ has grossed close to Rs 15 crores nett in India in it’s first weekend.
Spare a thought for the stars involved and Priyadarshan. The film wasn’t as bad as the collections above suggest. Certainly deserved better.
It’s likely to crash further today, and should shut shop with less than 20-22 crores as lifetime business in India.

where r those that said six months ago that agneepath is nothing in front of tezz. the heat of avengers and the scorching fire of agneepath is seriously burning and wiping away tezz. ha ha ha. even agent vinod of Saif was not this disastrous and the flop king of bachchan did better than mr. devgan. well said, i still pray for ajay’s bolbachchan to be a success since i’d like bachchan jnr. to come out of his list of flops since he is a nice guy n the husband of my most cherished actress. hrithik u rocked n ur krrish 3 will be the biggest blockbuster of 2013. sorry ajay’s fans, better luck next time

Won’t forget those days when the fan of Ajay devgan were teasing us saying that film like Agneepath will be disaster, Hr is nothing in front of Ajay etc. etc. Ajay Devgan is an OK actor, but he should bot be placed in the line of where Hrithik stands with dignity. First expression is the last expression and this is what Hrihtik has proved, the record hrithik made by KNPH is unbreakable. The film won 103 awards and set a record of being the highest number of award winning film. Anyway, this should be a lesson to the fans of Ajay Devgan. However, they should not be frustrated, hope their favorite actor will recover soon. And yes I agree with those people talking about Krrish3. It should shatter all the box office record. Reason why it break all the records are following:
1) Hrithik Roshan
2) The brand name “Krrish”
3) Rakesh Roshan
4) Magic of the return of the pair between father and son
5) will arrive at the theater more than 1.5 years later which will make the audience hunger than ever!!
6) Hrithik’s continuous self improvement as an actor
7) will be released after the two biggest success in his career: ZNMD and Agneepath!! so the trust will always be there in his next!
Its irritating to see such a good action film failing at the box office. House full2 was a terrible movie in its main department viz the comedy and was a success.
The film Tezz is an action film, Action sequences and aerial zoom shots are mind blowing good. I saw Tezz with my hubby. I am unable to understand what is the yard stick to measure a reasonably good thriller.

Without Rohit Shetty….Ajay Devgn seems incomplete! :P…and the presence of Zayed Khan confirmed in advance that this film was flop….I don’t remember any action movie which features Zayed to succeed!??….Cash,Blue,Mission Istanbul……n now TEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ :P….Anil Kapoor was an amazing actor but after MI4..lost a bit of respect for him..Good Luck Ajay for SOS! :)

MR.aJAY’s fans really need to apoligize to HR’s fans for the damage they did to our reputation in sept,2011 at indicine’s column at HRITHIK ROSHAN’S AGNEEPATH VS AJAY DEVGAN’S TEZZ which one suceeds at box office jan 26th b4 the postpostment of tezz. How to know a good actor n a superstar. Hrithik’s GUZAARISH was said to be a flop. TEZZ turned out to be a super disaster. hrithik was nominated severally for his awesome performance for GUZAARISH at various B A award functions. LOL ajay devgan’s perfomance was neither praised nor appreciated by critics for TEZZ. i keep my fingers crossed for best actor award nominations for 2012
