Tanu Weds Manu Returns is the first 100 crore grosser of 2015

Tanu Weds Manu Returns has crossed the 100 crore mark in India, becoming the first Bollywood film to cross the 100 crore mark in 2015.

The film has collected Rs 5.2 crore on its 11th day, which is higher than the opening day collections of films like Bombay Velvet, Mr X, Detective Byomkesh Bakshi, NH10 (another female-oriented film) and Shamitabh. It’s also about the same level as the opening day business of Piku, starring Deepika Padukone, which collected 5.32 crore.

Tanu Weds Manu Returns has now collected Rs 103.5 crore in 11 days. It should collect around Rs 116 crore by the end of its 2nd week. Lifetime business will depend on how well ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ is received, but the minimum target would be around 130 crore.

  • Tanu weds manu returns crossed 100 crs first. Well done Kangana! Akkis two flops this year couldnt cross 100 cr. Poor Akki fans.

  • Phenomenal outstanding. The movie has retaliated the fact that good movies do work irrespective of their release date.Kangana would be in a league of her own after the response for the movie and her performance

  • Khan are very upset with this collection , akki & kangna shown their power on non holiday .

  • Kangana is highly talented and Madhavan also acted great. If Akki was in this movie, it would have been a sureshot flop like his two movies this year. Even Sonakshi is much better than akki.

  • Kangana should not work with Akki otherwise she will become a 60 cr queen. He has zero talent and zero starpower, proved by his continous flops after flops.

  • Today Tanu Weds Manu Returns has created History . This is the 2nd 100 CR Grosser for Madhavan after 3 Idiots(His first movie in a lead role) and also the 2nd 100 CR Grosser for Kangana after Krrish 3 . 4 years back The Dirty Picture collected 92 CR and was a Blockbuster . But this time the verdict can be a All Time Blockbuster . I just want to see what will be the final collections and for how many weeks will the movie run in theatres . In my city the maximum duration i remember that a movie ran in a multiplex was 6 weeks in the last 2 years . There were 2 movies who completed the duration i.e. Krrish 3 and Baby . I think TWMR can become the 3rd one or maybe more than 6 . Let us see !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is kangna power. khans can never beat her record. khans r media created stars overrated

  • one our bhau failed to do good in republic day in 4500screen,hiking ticket price with south remake.and kangana single handedly defeated bhau with less screen with out south remake that also by doing an offbeat movie.every actors gave offbeat hits with out our bhojpuri bhai.whose fans are always crying as lungi,lungi…..but those lungi’s aukat is also more than their star and themselveslol.don’t why they couldn’t felt shame as their star is a non actor, lol.I could have suicide if I bwoukd have become a fan of such non actor.not having a lifetime rememberable performance given but lifetime rememberable crime done by their star, might that’s the the only reason why bhojouris love their stars so much,ROFL.

  • Wow!!! Kangana going 2 defeat overrated non actor salman’s 100% movies starting from marigold to jai ho!! shame of bhaitards.

  • @Indicine, you have quoted “NH10 (another female oriented film)”, may implying that TWMR is a is female oriented film.

However, kindly note, that Kangana has quoted TWMR is not a female-oriented film, though she has a double role.

She said the movie is equally about Tanu as well as Manu, giving equal prominence to the character of Madhavan too.

  • @TWMR team – Kangs and Mads, thanks for saving the industry with this humongous blockbuster movie. You proved that that industry cannot always rely on Salman or Aamir to pick them up from the dumps, and someone needs to stand up in their absence.

The industry is indebted to you, Mads, Salman and Aamir. May you guys always rock !!!!

By the way, Madhavan also hinted that there could be a 3rd installment of TWM. Wow!

  • Heartiest congratulations to the whole team of TWMR. From the day trailer came out, I knew if this film carries a good WOM it will work big time.
100 Cr is really a big feat and it deserves every single penny of it.

  • @ultron not 98% but 100%. Twmr will cross Rowdy rathore lifetime very soon. End of akki career.

  • These collections are not due to kangana, why some people are not understanding that,

She is queen of disaster films like Rajjo, Ungli, Revolver Rani.

  • @akki is Gobar

Worry more about Akki showing any remaining ounce of starpower he has when Brothers releases coz I have a feeling the young Lion King Sid will deliver the last Knock Out blow to finally end Akkis flop filled career…!

  • Another movie in the Tanu franchise is a must n sequels to floppy /crappy movies like Baby n Holiday should not be made…

  • Biggest stars based on non holiday success (true stardom)
    1.Akshay kumar
    2.Hrithik
3.Salman holiday khan (jai ho 110 cr)
4.Aamir holiday khan (talaash 92 cr)
5.Shahrukh holiday khan (mnik 75 cr)
    6.Ajay devgn
    7.Ranbir kapoor

  • @ navin kangana also beaten bhai marigold , yuvraj , veer , flop ho , hello , god tussi great ho . Within one week kangana beaten bhai film .

  • In 2010 both salman and akki had festival time releases
    eid release dabangg-140cr+
    chritsmas release tees maar khan-70+
so akki fans keep your mouth shut!

  • Indicine is under estimating the power of strong word of mouth and content again. The benchmark set by indicine 130cr will be passed in the third weekend…….There is no effect of DDD to TWMR….I think collection of DDD is affected by TWMR…..

  • And stop campare kangana with anyone.
Even sunny gives superhit like Ragini mms2.
So it means she is superstar

  • Bhagwaan Akshay will give another class movie with Brothers like Holiday, Baby & gabbar is back

  • @floppy @ REW1 and all who call akshay a flop star or king of 60 cr. club are you guys ever check the verdicts, after your continuous comments that akshay is flop star I was curiously check the verdicts as I was thinking that he should have 8-10flops in last couple of years with 1-2 hits but I surprized that fact is completly different as akshay has only 3 flops since 2012 including jocker which he never promote and that to after releasing more than double films from other A listers, so I decide to post the performance of all A listers since 2012 for you guys.

Actors with best hit % –
    1. SRK – 100 %
    2. Hritik – 100%
    3. Salman – 75% ( success rate 100%)
    4. Aamir – 66.66%(success rate 100%)
    5. Akshay- 50% (success rate 58.33%)

Actor with most number of hits or above-
    1. Akshay – 6
    2. Salman – 3
    3. SRK – 3
    4. Ajay – 3
    5. Aamir- 2
    6. Ranbir – 2
So despite almost double releases then ajay and 3 times more tthan others akshay has only three flops and 7 successfull films though his films are not as big bb as khans but they were not disasters and most of his films are non- holiday releases so its hard to get hit tag if film is average, salman and aamir have one non holiday release each during this period and both were above average despite they were big stars it’s not easy for an average film to be big grosser on non holiday, so keep your facts right and give respect to everyone for their hardwork.
