Tanu Weds Manu Returns has emerged as the biggest hit of 2015. Looking at the trends during the weekend and how well the film has sustained on Monday, the Anand L. Rai film could go on to be the first 100 crore grosser of the year.
Business on Sunday was nearly two times more than Friday, which is an incredible feat because the film did very well on Day 1 with net box office collections of Rs 8.75 crore. Only films that don’t open well and grow because of positive word-of-mouth, manage to double Friday business on Sunday.

Tanu Weds Manu Returns has also become the only film to cross the Rs 16 crore mark this year, which is again an extraordinary achievement for a film of its size. More so when costlier movies with a much bigger star cast like ‘Gabbar Is Back’ (released on a partial holiday), Baby and Bombay Velvet have fallen short.
Bombay Velvet, in fact, was made on 4 times the budget of Tanu Weds Manu Returns, and the box office collections of the less expensive film is likely to be 4-5 times more than the Ranbir Kapoor starrer!
Overall, the makers of Tanu Weds Manu Returns didn’t spend much on marketing the film, nor was the music successful. The audience liked the trailer and decided to watch the film. Strong content ensured that the growth over the weekend was phenomenal. Proves yet again that content is the king and good films never fail!

I watched TWMR Sunday, it watch an awesome movie i liked very much, Raja Awasthi was very good, and Kangana like always brilliant performance by Kangana, she rocked specially in Haryanvi character just awesome no words for praise for Kangana.
Definitely it will become the first 100 crore movie of 2015.
Kangana we can now called her a Super Star Actress. Deepika RIP.

Power of Kangana!!!
Saw the movie, and tried posting the review but somehow it was not going through.
Anyways, it was brilliant performance by the entire cast, and Kangana was outstanding to say the least.
She just lives both the characters. If there would be a voting for the best double act, Kangana’s Tanu and Datto will top all others that have come out so far in bollywood over the years.
The music is not chartbuster but you like it when watching the movie, as it moves along very beautifully – the ‘Swagger’ song and ‘Old school girl’ stands out.
The direction, the message of women empowerment and artificial insemination is very well handled without going over the top.
Most importantly it is a laugh riot. From the first scene itself the movie takes audience to an hilarious and fun journey throught the 2 hours, and by the end of it you are wanting for more.
There is the right amount of emotions thrown in, and you feel for all the three characters – Tanu, Manu and Datto. Madhavan did an extremely brilliant job with his restrained role.
It is a complete entertainer, and it would not be a surprise if Kangana wins the best actress award for her performance once again. If she was brilliant in Queen, here she is absolutely superb.
PS: fans of deepika need not compare Kangana’s act or the collection of her movies, because Kangana is a class apart. She is over and above any competition right now.
Kangana has beaten akkis two films this year. Akki should now retire or sit with a bowl on the road, asking people for some money.

Yes it is a good light hearted entertainer..I loved jimmy shergill in the movie..what a jem of an actor he is..and as far as kangana ranaut is concerned,there are no words to describe her performanve..and yes content is the king that’s why we have many sleeper hits every year and also huge blockbusters year after year..and I’m sure the season of blockbusters s going to start with bajrangi bhaijaan and end with Dilwale
I’m very big fan of the director Anand L . Rai after watching his previous films the kind of story that he gets and how he present to the people that’s very attracting and mind blowing and now his latest film TWMR has shown that hez just doing better and better. I have no words, love the concept of the film, story line, characters etc mind blowing. The higheight of the film was kangna Shez has done excellent job, Her boy cut character I don’t hv words to say I l love the performance infact I’m fallen for the haryanvi kangna yes I’m fallen for the character. I wish kangna for this year best actress again and definitely Shez gonna win.
