The domestic business of Tamasha has dropped quite significantly on its 5th day at the box office. A drop of less than 5% from Monday is considering to be excellent, a drop of 10% is normal, but the film has crashed by nearly 20% – sealing the fate of the Ranbir Kapoor starrer.
A positive trend during weekdays is what gives exhibitors the confidence to retain screenings of the film in Week 2. But apart from Day 2 (Saturday), ‘Tamasha’ has underperformed at the box office on all other days. The film is heading towards Flop / Below Average verdict.
In IndicineLBO, we predicted Rs 68 crore as the lifetime domestic total of Tamasha, but even that total could be out of reach for the film.

Tamasha is a flop. But the important thing is that Ranbir has brought back his audience to the theatres and not totally disappointed them. Infact, there has been appreciation from the big cities’ multiplex audience(his core fan base). Its a step forward after the debacles of Besharam, Roy and BV, to say the least.
