The Telugu film industry continues its march, with its superstars now working in historical films made on massive budgets. The motion poster of megastar Chiranjeevis 151st film was unveiled on the occasion of his 62nd birthday.
The poster of the film ‘Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy’ was released by his son Ram Charan Teja in Hyderabad. It’s based on the life and times of a freedom fighter.
The motion poster shows a rebel army led by Narasimha Reddys lay siege to a fort occupied by British forces. The film also features Amitabh Bachchan, who will be seen sharing screen space with Chiranjeevi.
The rest of the cast includes Nayanthara, Kiccha Sundeep, Vijay Sethupathi and Jagapathy Babu. Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman will be composing the film, cinematographer Ravi Varman has been signed to handle the camera while Surender Reddy will be directing the big budget film.
Reddy last directed ‘Dhruva’ starring Ram Charan Teja.
Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is a biopic on Rayalaseema freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. He is considered to be one of the first freedom fighters in India and his first revolt against the British rule came a decade before Indias first war of independence in 1857. He was captured and publicly hanged in 1847.
The film goes on floors this month.
