7 year after the Govinda slap, the Supreme Court has asked the actor to apologise to a man who he slapped in 2008.
While shooting for his film ‘Money Hai Toh Honey Hai’ back in 2008, Govinda had allegedly slapped a fan named Santosh Raj, who had come to watch him shoot.
Govinda, who claimed to be defending himself and protecting the female dancers and actors on the sets of the film, had also said the man got too close to him and tried to misbehave with some female actors.
“Yes, I slapped him. The guy was trying to get too close to the girls. I felt that I had to take a stand” the actor had said.
After the High Court dismissed the case, Santosh Raj moved to the Supreme Court in 2014 alleging that Govinda humiliated him in front of the public. He also claimed he had spent Rs 5 to 6 lakh on lawyers’ fees.
He said that since the actor did not call him and apologise, he was more determined to fight a case against him.
The Supreme Court of India has now asked Govinda to apologise to the fan to close to the case.
