The inaugural Super Fight League, India’s first professionally organized Mixed Martial Arts League, was held in Mumbai on Sunday evening. Promoted by Raj Kundra and Sanjay Dutt, it was a star-studded event, with everyone right from cricketers, film stars and television stars gracing the event.
The marquee battle was the heavyweight fight between James Thomspson and Bob Sapp. The former was victorious, in a fight that lasted less than a round. The women’s fight between Sanja Sucevic and Lena Ovychnnikova, was spectacular and lived up to expectations.

The television rights has been acquired by Colors. The next two Super Fight League events will be held in Chandigarh on April 7th and New Delhi on May 6 – coinciding with the Indian Premier League. One of the team’s in IPL is also owned by the founder of Super Fight League, Raj Kundra.
