Sultan has set opening day records in Gulf and Pakistan, as people celebrated Eid by watching Salman Khan’s film in theatre. In Pakistan, the response was terrific, as the film managed to surpass the collections of previous highest grossers like Dilwale and FAN – by a margin of more than 50%.
Sultan has become the first film to cross the 3 crore PKR on a single day, which has previously not been achieved by any film in the country. The first day collections of Sultan in Pakistan is 3.45 crore PKR (Rs 2.2 crore).
The Salman Khan starrer has also become the first film to collect more than $1 million on its opening day in Gulf. The film has collected $1.4 million.
The overseas total for the film is approximately Rs 20.5 crore (all centres not reported).
Sultan Worldwide Box Office Collections:
- India Collections (Net) – Rs 36.54 crore
- India Collections (Gross) – Rs 50.16 crore
- Overseas Collections – Rs 20.5 crore
- Sultan Worldwide Collections - 70.66 crore
As we write this (Thursday night), the worldwide gross of Sultan has crossed the 100 crore mark.
The Eid festivities will continue in India for the entire weekend. In Gulf, it’s a holiday till Saturday, while Sultan will get holiday advantage in Pakistani till Sunday.

@indicine u didn’t mentioned sultan is benefitted from Eid holidays in gulf and Pakistan with literally no competition but u are comparing them with fan non holiday and other which was released on non holiday along with huge competition from BM and star war and still did 1.2 mn in UAE GCC and 2.12 cr in Pakistan. But u are keep blabbering how sultan is biggest opener in pak and gulf.

And read with your eyes wide opened “It could go higher later in the day as the reports from theatres is very positive.” means it was further stretched till 90-95% in the evening/night shows (from 85% of afternoon).
So on an average, the HNY occupancy was anywhere between 85-90/90-95 %.
On the other hand, Sultana opened with an average occupancy of 70% . At the same time, in noon the average occupancy of Sulana was around 80%. Read this line –

And then comes the most important part. As indicine clarified earlier, there is no point of this debate until you get a clear picture , in which region that occupancy was more. Because a 100% occupancy in Bihar/Odisha/Jharkhand/UP will generate equal revenue what it would generate from a 60% occupancy across metropolitans.
