Sultan First Weekend Box Office Collections

Sultan has collected Rs 180.36 crore in its extended first weekend at the box office, which is the highest 5-day collections of all-time and comparable to the first week collections of films like Dhoom 3 (188.99 crores – all versions), PK (182.89 crores) and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (184.65 crores).

Basically, the film is the fastest to reach every figure in its first weekend and the only film to collect more than 30 crore on each of its first 5 days.

The occupancy was high throughout the weekend, which didn’t allow the film to show big growth on Sunday. The consistency is what was staggering, because the level of business was about the same on a working day, partial holiday and full holiday on Sunday. The biggest growth probably came on Saturday – a trend that should continue this weekend too – much like Bajrangi Bhaijaan last year.

After a record breaking weekend, collections have come down on Monday. A lot of centres that we tracked in the noon, dropped by 45-50% from Wednesday (first day). Ticket prices are down from the weekend rates, but still higher than the usual working weekday prices.

As of 2PM, crossing the 200 crore in 6 days is looking difficult, but the day-trend of Sultan over the last few days has been big growth evening onwards.

  • @indicine… make an article on every milestone which Sultan has crossed….

Ex:- fastest film to cross 150 crs and fastest film to cross 200, 250, 300, 350 crs in worldwide. and many records which r attained by it.

  • @4:36pm:

That’s why his content rich Ram navami holiday release billu2 failed to collect 80cr…LOL.

    @4:39pm:

It’s simple… The makers of SULTAN are not using Laal Mirch calculator. If they would have used the calculator then SULTAN’s Sunday collections would have been more than 50cr..!!

  • @6:28pm:

Yes srk is the biggest star of the nation. That’s why he runs away from Eid, his content rich Ram navami holiday release billu2 collected only 80cr…LOL.

  • 30+cr collections on 5 consecutive days!!!

If this is not MEGASTARDOM then what will you call MEGASTARDOM???

  • SULTAN has thrashed….

    Fan within 3 days.

    Dilwale within 4days.

    Hny within 5 days.

    Too much funnnn!!!

    P.S- Real collections (not inflated).

  • Bhai’s crap SULTAN (acc to Loongiwalas) collected mammoth 38cr on 5th day (Sunday holiday). And duniya ka sabse bada superstar’s content rich billu2 collected only 5cr nett on 5th day (Mahavir jayanti holiday).

Hahaha….Kahan Raja Bhoj (Megastar Bhai) aur kahan gangu teli (srk)!!!

  • 5 days collections of SULTAN are around 189+cr. If the makers of the movie would have used Laal Mirch calculator then the collections would have been more than 200cr. Hats off to YRF for not using Laal Mirch calculator!!!

  • According to my estimates,

Two weeks total domestic net = 274 crore
Lifetime domestic net = 315 crore

  • Since SULTAN was declared haters (mostly Loongiwalas) have been calling it crap, gundey 2, mbkd 2, Marigold, non acting and blah blah blah. Now eager to know their view on its super succes. Will they call it now a Ali Abbas Jafar/Randeep Hooda movie (just like they did for Bajrangi Bhaijaan by calling it Nawaj/Harshali movie)??

  • i have seen sultan 2nd day 1st show kyonki 1st day first show ki tiket ni mili main to kehta hoon ek bar puri family ke saath zarur jayein sultan dekhne !

  • Source BOI :Top Ten Days In History

Sultan now has the four days among the top ten single days in history. The only other fim to get more than one day is Bajrangi Bhaijaan Below are the top ten single days in history.

    1. Prem Ratan Dhan Payo Day One – 39.32 crore

    2. Bajrangi Bhaijaan Day Three – 38.53 crore

    3. Sultan Day Five – 38.25 crore apprx

    4. PK Day Three – 38.24 crore

    5. Sultan Day Two – 37.25 crore apprx

    6. Sultan Day One – 36.59 crore

    7. Sultan Day Four – 36.50 crore apprx

    8. Happy New Year Day One – 36.31 crore

    9. Bajrangi Bhaijaan Day Two – 36.17 crore

    10. Dhoom 3 Day 3 – 34.15 crore

The only record that the film did not smash was the opening day one or the single highest day one and that would have happened if Eid did not come a day late. A 40 crore barrier is proving elusive and it seems the wait will have to continue as nothing coming soon seems to have the potential to go that far.
Salman Khan broke the 20 crore nett barrier 2011 (Bodyguard) and then the 30 crore nett (Ek Tha Tiger) in 2013 and despite Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Sultan missing by small margins he is still probably the best bet to go through this elusive 40 crore nett mark unless other actors can up their game.

    /////////
Red chillies calculator making 44 crore but the real one is somewhere 36crs. Similarly last time what they did for CE collecting .0001 lacs more then Ektha tiger to get the opening day record.By any chance if the so called global star gets a solo release they will make 50 cr first day and then all the fans in indicine will start jumping.

  • Every Trade analyst and Bollywood sites like Indicine expect 150cr max in extended 5 day weekend but Salman did 181cr in 5 day which is unimaginable collection…only Megastar Salman Khan can do this…….

  • According to some mental asylum returned pseudo intellectual SULTAN has collected 180+cr due to Eid holidays. Fine, a few simple questions for them….

Then WTH duniya ka sabse bada superstar runs away from Eid??? Doesn’t he want his movies to collect 180cr on weekend???

Duniya ka sabse bada superstar’s content rich Fan also got 2 holidays (Ram navami & Mahavir jayanti) within its 1st run. If holiday release means blockbusters/200cr grossers then WTH it struggled to go past even 80cr mark lifetime???

One may say that Ram navami & Mahavir jayanti holidays are not as much big as Eid. Don’t you guys call him global king/duniya ka sabse superstar/galaxy Megastar??? Then WTH he fails to make Ram navami & Mahavir jayanti weekend a lucrative period for movie release (just like Bhai made Eid)???

  • 180 crore in 5 days is unbelievably huge…the film is already a blockbuster which is a positive sign for the industry..the only thing remains to be seen is whether it can better the business of Bajrangi Bhaijaan or not because that is the trend which every salman khan eid release has followed since wanted in 2009… even if it remains shy of Bajrangi bhaijaan it has still continued the blockbuster streak of salman Khan…I personally loved the film and would be very happy if it beats Bajrangi bhaijaan…All the Best

  • Sociologists, psychologists have defined 2 categories of people – about 30% of the world’s population capable of creative work, knowledge, have a thin spiritual organization. These 30% are engines of progress in science and technology, in art. The rest – 70% …. Please understand it correctly – it is the law of nature … clever not guilty, that clever, and (Cont’d understand self)…Of course, the biggest difference in the interest … For each group, all various – music, literature , cinema … Prem Ratan Dhan Payo – for 70% – people with low intelligence, so these box office – 399?? Wonderful film “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag” – for 30% – with increased intellect -103,5kp…… 70% > 30% ? Have understood something? You of morons, larger number by nature, therefore movies for morons have greater box office. One more point, today, following the economic boom in of India, film became available to the lower strata of the population.

  • There was a time when my first visit used to be Indicine whenever I start PC. But now, this is the fourth website I am visiting.
You are providing too less updates on Sultan. First estimate then official collection that’s it, no update about occupancy. I have visited atleast 20 times today to know about today’s occupancy and expected collection. Please give some info about it.

  • SRK will not rise again and he has noone to blame but himself and his hateful fans who because of their hatred towards other actors has also been his downfall.
His upcoming movies are not so great. Already negative response to Raees because of content of alcohol, drugs etc its not a family film and even many of his fans this side of the world already indicated nor interested.
Another thing is because his fans are hurt and dissapointed by Sultans massive success they are lashing out with hatred and nasty comments which is putting more nails in SRK coffin by calling those indian who watch Sultan stupid and foolish.
When you cant be appreciative of someone success you will never succeed.
