Sultan continued to perform well in its 3rd weekend at the box office, but the growth wasn’t as good as the second weekend – especially on the 3rd Sunday.
The only competition was from Rajnikanth’s Kabali, which was beyond extraordinary in the south but average / below average at centres where Sultan is performing.
The film will finish Week 3 with a total of around the 294 crore mark, which means it would have to add around 6 crore – after the release of ‘Dishoom’ this Friday – to cross the 300 crore mark.
On Sunday, Sultan also managed to beat the lifetime all-version total of ‘Dhoom 3’ to become the 3rd highest grosser of all time. It’ll hold on to that position, as both Bajrangi Bhaijaan and PK are beyond its reach now. Salman now has two films in the Top 3.

Next, I believe you are well aware that CE faced competition from first week itself and one or the other biggies were released in all the coming weeks.
But you called all those subsequent releases “craps”, that shows your hypocrisy.
In first week, CE faced OUTIMD – a sequel of highly successful movie with a top Bollywood star as lead. Wasn’t that a Big jolt to CE’s collection?
And I’m not talking about the aftermath. Yes, post the release when the WOM popped out, people have rejected OUATIMD , that’s a fact. But can you deny the fact that it was carrying huge pre-release buzz and hence would have affected the overall collections of CE (at least in first 2-3 days)?
Next week, it faced clash with another critically acclaimed movie “Madras Cafe”.
So if you rule out Madras Cafe saying it was not a competition at all, can I do the same for Dhishoom? Because in that way, Sultan will have not less than four open weeks (if we exempt Dhishoom from the clash list of Sultan).
In third week, it faced clash in the form of satyagraha. Again , from a successful Team (whose previous movie “Rajneeti” was a huge hit) with same star cast and almost same storyline (based on social issue).
So just to degrade SRK, you can manipulate the facts but deep down your heart, even you know that he came on a single Eid and did something which your bhaijan is dreaming since last 7-8 years despite of releasing his craps every Eid.
And I’m damn sure if he gets any other Eid in coming years, again his movie will put such a huge number that it will put all of you in shame.
So stop jumping on ‘Eid’ sponsored success of your bhaijan. Let him release his movies under adverse conditions and then excel, I’ll admit his megastardom that day.

@xzone : When you cant acknowledge the commanding success of BB against Bahubaali or giving credit to Eid holidays for Sultan’s success then we dont see OUATIMD, Madras Cafe and Satyagrah as same competition as Bahubaali and I am just talking about Hindi version of Bahubaali (which collected almost 114 crs) and not all versions. Among the three movies only OUATIMD was a mass movie due to the story line and sequel factor and as you said its fate was sealed after first day not because of CE but due to poor screenplay and bad direction. Had CE faced a movie like Bahubali it wont have collected even 150 crs. Salman never came up for buy one and get one ticket offer for movies in which he starred to attract audience his name alone is pull the fans. Last, If Salman had released any movie on Eid 2013 instead of CE even that would have shattered 3 idiots collections as we know 2013 saw 3 ATHG (including debatable K3). Having said all these I agree CE was one of the entertaining masala movie of this decade but it was nothing extra ordinary like PK or BB.
