Shahrukh Khan will be undergoing knee surgery at the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai after the actor decided to cancel his plan to get his knee operated in the United States.
Dr Ali Irani will be heading the panel of 9 doctors who will be taking decisions regarding the surgery on SRK. Post surgery, former Indian cricket team physio Andrew Leipus will be leading the 3 member physiotherapy team. The actor is expected to recover within a month.
The reason cited by sources, for the move from US to India, is the promotional campaign for Ra One which is expected to begin soon. With Shahrukh away in US, it would have also been difficult for Gauri Khan to manage both Shahrukh and their kids Aryan and Suhana.
Says a source “The kids have their school and it would not be possible for Gauri to manage both, if SRK had got his surgery done in the Unites States. Besides, staying in Mumbai would mean that he would be able to attend office daily and oversee Ra One’s promotional activities that are lined up”
