Yet another South Indian remake might be in the making soon. Gautham Menon wants to remake his 2006 hit Tamil film Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaaduin in Hindi.
In the original movie Kamal Haasan played the role of a cop who chases a serial killer. If SRK accepts this crime thriller, he will appear as a cop in Khaki uniform.
Buzz is that the film was offered to Salman Khan too. But Menon denies the rumours “I don’t know where these reports of Salman Khan being an option for Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu are coming from. It’s Shahrukh Khan, who’s the first and only choice. Kamalji played the part in the Tamil original. Shahrukh seems the right candidate for the part.”
What’s interesting is that Kamal Haasan suggested SRK for the role. Their friendship goes a long way. A decade ago SRK, who is one of the highest paid actors now, did a film called ‘Hey Ram’ free of cost for Hassan.
Sources say that the storyline will be similar to Aamir Khan’s upcoming film Talaash.
In other news, SRK has also been offered the role of a social crusader in A R Murugadoss’ Hindi remake of his Tamil flick ‘Ramanna’. Now its upto to King Khan to decide if he wants to act as a cop or a social crusader.
