SRK in Ramana remake: A R Murugadoss to direct?

Last week there were rumours that SRK is set to appear in a remake, but now it’s more or less confirmed. The Tamil film ‘Ramana’ joins the long list of remakes in Bollywood and King Khan is supposedly playing the lead in it.

Ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali has acquired the rights of Ramana which was directed by A.R Murugadoss. Buzz is that Bhansali, who will only be producing the film and not directing it, has approached SRK.

Ramana starring Vijaykanth and Simran, released in 2002 and went on to be a box-office blockbuster. The film ran in theaters for more than 20 weeks. It was later remade in Telugu titled as ‘Tagore’ where Chiranjeevi played the lead. It was also remade in Kannada and titled ’Vishnu Sena’ starring the legendary Vishnuvardhan.

For A R Murugados, who has always wished to work with SRK, it will be a dream come true. The movie is about a professor who builds a strong student chain of network to fight corruption. In the process he kills bribe takers and brings welfare to the common man.

The story is very relevant in today’s scenario.
