Singh Is Bling has collected Rs 20.67 crore on its opening day at the box office, which is the highest opening day collections for a film starring Akshay Kumar in the lead.
The film should have probably collected a little more, given the fact that Akshay’s last release ‘Brothers’ collected Rs 21 crore on Day 2 (holiday for Independence Day) and Rowdy Rathore collected 15 crore on a working Friday nearly 3 years ago.
In most cases, the national holiday advantage is around 30-35%, which means, without a holiday (Gandhi Jayanti) the collections of ‘Singh Is Bling’ would have probably been around the 15.5 crore mark – which would have been an excellent total and Akshay’s highest opening to date.
Overall, a solid first day for Singh Is Bling. Business on Saturday and Sunday will be crucial. A healthy trend would be business of around the 16-17 crore mark on Saturday. And if Sunday is around the same level as Friday, it would give the film a very good weekend of 56-58 crore.

Now come to happy new year….what if it was released on non holiday instead of Diwali….. Very good collections..after all akshay Kumar’s movies underperformed this year in terms of opening I had no expectations from this film..but still it managed to cross 20 crore is a very good sign..Now my faith in Akshay Kumar is restored again..he can pull crowds for sure even when he is fighting a lone battle..hats off
Singh is bling is facing huge competition from puli which has 1200+ screens in Hindi market …..also ashvini yardi herself tweeted that it would be released in 3200 screens again much less screens from bang bang and bajrangi bhaijaan……. What u have to say about this……..

Aur navin Bandar tere liye kya kahu ……..jitna bada bhikhari tu hai utna Hi bada Tera salman Bhai bhul gaya kaise bajrangi bhaijaan ke time Tera salman khan regional film makers se haath jodkar bol raha tha ki meri film ke saath aur koi film mat release karna …..infact maari the dhanush starrer and a big Marathi film was scheduled to release on 17 July………..plus earlier batman v Superman was also releasing on 17 July ………..but it was again postponed …..I would have loved to see how much bb would have collected if it was released along with them……

Why I like Akki fans is that most of them don’t need to get high to be in disney world!! I like their spirit though very hilarious I must say. Let’s see where their projected numbers lead too. For me the movie is just average but honest acting from Gobar. Fate has just been written that he will be a damn miraculous actor if he thinks he can aim 30 crs even with 5500 screens. ‘re read the in-depth of the comment before disliking it. Great collections, never expected that SIB will open more than 15cr, but it did around cr 18-18.5cr approx. So since RR, none of Akshay film came into superb category other than SIB. Congrats Akshay for all the good opening, remember Akki deserves the credit for opening, as its Amy debut film, Prabhu last 3 directorial R..Rajkumar,AJ,RamaiyyaRamaiyya were not appreciated. So he deserves all the credit and respect. And that comes after 3 films already in the year, not so appealing trailer, lack of chartbuster music. Only positive was thaappeal Sardar act which he had done as Happy Singh in SIK. Let’s see from today how the film fares, will it cross 100cr or not, will see.
