It’s official. Alia Bhatt’s first film in her home banner, Vishesh Films, will be the third film in the ‘Aashiqui’ series. Her rumoured boyfriend Sidharth Malhotra has been cast as the male lead.
“Yes, it is true. We have signed Sidharth and Alia for the film. They completely fit the role. When we make films we look for the perfect casting. They both fit the bill” Mukesh Bhatt said.
The two actors replace the much-loved onscreen pairing of Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor in ‘Aashiqui 2’.
‘Aashiqui 3’ will be the third outing of Sidharth and Alia after ‘Student of The Year’ and ‘Kapoor & Sons’.
The first ‘Aashiqui’ film released in 1990 and went on to be a big musical hit at the box office. The sequel was released more than 2 decades later. It was directed by Mohit Suri. The film went on to be a huge blockbuster.
Mohit Suri will once again direct the third film in the love franchise.
‘Aashiqui 3’ is expected to release in 2017.
