‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ continued its strong run, showing growth at the box office on Tuesday. The film is a winner already, but if it holds well in Week 2, it could challenge the lifetime business of Ayushmann Khurrana’s highest grosser ‘Vicky Donor’ which was one of the most acclaimed movies of 2012.
The Tuesday collections are higher than Friday, inspite of multiplex tickets selling for lower prices.
The first week will now be around the 24-25 crore mark. It should cross the 30 crore by the end of its second weekend – beating films like ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ and ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’.
Small films have fared quite well in the last few months, with films like ‘Hindi Medium’, ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’, ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ and now ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ performing very well at the box office. It’ll be interesting to see if films like ‘Lucknow Central’ and ‘Simran’ continue the trend.

so ayushman has finally established himself as a star in d industry. 2 back 2 back acclaimed hits during a dull phase is a commendable job..bt the problem is he is yet to cross 50cr mark at d bo. his next is with sriram raghvan so it will b another low budget hit.
I request ayushman to do bigger films now. He is a really good actor & perfectly suits the role of underdog . Also a good singer..come on ayushman. I want a 100cr biggie from u ?
Stick with what works..
He doesn’t need big budget movies like hawaizaada and bewafa(medium budget yet flopped)..he should continue doing low budget movies because in these movies content is the main focus and his audience is also limited.. No one except a few dozen wants to see him in bigger roles..but we want to see him in better roles

These movies trailers were also good and appealing ,it was clear from the trailer that these movies can become a success. But simran and Lucknow Central looks clear Flop ,zero interest to watch them

Loved every scene every dialogue n everything except climax. There are so many dhamakedaar scene. But my favourite is Alibaba or uski goods (cave). Hilarious how each n everyone perform. Superb best movie of d year from my side
It’s very good to see so many small films perform at a time where almost every biggie fail to do it. Quality is better than quantity ! As for Simran, I just loved the trailer but the desi feel of BKB, SMS and all the other ones is missing. It looks like an American indie film, which may be a problem at the local box-office. Lucknow Central could surprise and much more after nobody watched Qaidi Band, which means the story remains original for most of the audience ^^’

Wrong predictions by Indicine continue…n now since Ajay Devgn has had that fight with Karan Johar…indicine is madly furious and they are unable to digest that Baadshaaho is a much bigger hit than JHMS and Jagga Jasoos of their favourites…they haven’t published an article mentioning it but are happy to publish articles daily on smaller movie like SMS…clearly shows biased approach…but still Ajay Devgn is much bigger than non actor Ranbir…and currently comparable to SRK as they both assure 60 crores minimum…rest on content…

Why indicine is not interested in Dangal’s HongKong collection. It is doing extremely well there just same as it did in China. You seem to be fully biased towards salman and Shahrukh.
Yes they are paid by such non actors to hype them. They aren’t showing salman’s constipated expressions look and steroid gained arms of gadha zinda hai but not posting much bigger news of best movie of Indian cinema Dangal breaking records each and everywhere in overseas like boss which proves their jealousy and frustration. Anyways aamir is the only megastar of Bollywood and no one is his competition except for himself.
