Shraddha Kapoor begins shooting for Haseena

After wrapping up the final schedule of ‘Half Girlfriend’, Shraddha Kapoor has started shooting for her next film ‘Haseena’. The film, which also features Shraddha’s brother Siddhant Kapoor, is a biopic on the life of Haseena Parkar, the sister of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.

‘Haseena’ is being directed by Apoorva Lakhia, who has previously directed films like ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’, ‘Mission Istanbul’ and ‘Zanjeer’.

Haseena entered the world of crime after the death of her husband by Arun Gawli’s gang in 1991. He killed the murderers in an infamous shootout near JJ Hospital. Haseena was known for her involvement in film financing, extortion and cable wars. She was also into settling disputes between construction firms and slum dwellers. She died in 2014 after suffering from a heart attack.

On the first day of the shoot, Shraddha Kapoor tweeted “So excited!1st day of shoot of my next film #HASEENA begins with @SiddhanthKapoor all the best @apoorvalakhia ! #HaseenaBegins”

  • Why director choosing biopic on criminal & underworld don . Make biopic like MSD , Bhaag Milkha Bhag , Ranjit Katiyal , Neerja . No wondered director will make film on Bollywood biggest criminal overrated khan guess .

  • Don’t know how will it shape up. Apoorva Lakhia’s last 2 films Mission Istanbul and Zanjeer were dreadful and Shraddha doesn’t suit intense roles. Let’s hope for the best.

  • How could the cutest prettiest and sweetest girl in world play such a dark character.
Still best of luck my Shraddha?

  • That’s great news, thank God Sonakshi has been kicked out of Haseena, Shraddha has to show really mean character in this film… Apoorva Lakhia stands with one credential and that’s ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’ rest of his films were very dull and mediocre, they should have considered some other or new director with a fresh approach, even Karan Malhotra was a let down with Brothers and Sanjay Gupta can’t make originals because he’s a copy cat of Korean gangster films… Our film industry hasn’t produced any charismatic director in gangster genre, Anurag Kashyap is too dark and hellish… Mahesh Bhatt could have done justice but is retired… So it remains to be seen where it goes from here, A female protagonist film need a really interesting storyline and screenplay to entice the audience…

  • good work, glamourise a bloody criminal whose kin(and boss) is responsible for killing hundreds of our countrymen and is now living in pakistan under isi protection, and the idiots at this site cant stop thinking about how much they like shraddha, then we think that the problem is outside our borders.

  • @Tata birla and @what’s in a name, biopics are made on both good and bad people even if it is about a criminal. It depends on a person who has faced many problems in life and did something unique to make the world remember them, whether positively or negatively.

  • @ally: who has faced problems??? Seriously!!! U nuts… better think before posting such comments… daud was no a daring guy… ya he had brain… but daring! Not close… manya surge, maya dolas o even gawli can be considered daring guys.

  • @Indicine when will you review ‘Brfikre’ trailer, are you waiting to get a clear picture about the public and critics review then you’ll review it to make everyone happy in a diplomatic approach as you always do ???…

see what a fiery review KRK had given, he had just ripped it apart…

  • @Rishikesh, u should know that no one choses to be a criminal except some psycopaths, it’s the circumstances that make them one. Do u think becoming a don is easy??? And I never said that Dawood is daring or something.
